Title: SCCA Florida Match Tour this weekend!
Post by: Reijo on March 01, 2018, 08:58:13 PM
With more snow and cold coming, I know it's hard to imagine, but the SCCA Majors Solo season is going to begin this weekend (Friday actually).   Hmmm....and it is in Fort Meyers at the Buckingham field where I taught a SoloPro School a few years ago - nice site:

Noticed a few familiar names among whom are Glenn Austin (formerly of Seattle) from the LA area in CS, James Yom in a GT3 in SS (instead of AS etc) flying in from LA and Eric Peterson in CS in his MR2 who is one of our SoloPro instructors.

Only 95 entries.  That is a bit low.

That is scary low -- we get that many people at one of our local events :(  Any idea why?

Might be a negative reaction to the new Match Tour format, where multiple run times are added together. Next week's Pro on the same site has 126 people registered.

I haven't seen the Match Tours really take off in popularity for what it's worth.  For instance, the San Diego Tour drew many more people prior to it becoming a Match Tour.

Like anything new, perhaps it needs a bit of time to build up interest?
