ah that makes much more sense. The only problem I don't know if porta potties are in the budget for the practice events :P

Are you asking to use the same course for test and tune as for the competition? This wouldn't fly as that would be a preview of the course, thus making running as many T & T runs to practice for that actual competition a necessity for those competing. T & T is getting the car set up making sure it's running efficiently. Any custom changes to suit the actual competition course have to be done either by intuition (from looking at the course map) or during the actual timed runs.

is the CLA 45 classified? stick it in that class and it should work. basically taller wagon version of that.

personal practice. improving how you take lines, challenging yourself. getting your car settings dialed in for race day on the sunday. It'd be grossly unfair if practice day was the same as race day for people that didn't register for the Saturday.

Wine and a lake is my conflict!

It was noted that I scored the afternoon runs for those that got them, which is unfair to those that never got the extra runs due to the rain.

When I get home from work, I will update the scores to only count the first four runs from everyone.

Yeah I agree, I think it isn't fair to folks who didn't get to run in the afternoon... or who ran, but in a foot of standing water  ;D

However my fastest *clean* time was in the afternoon, sigh

Still number 3 there Nick!
Yay up a few spots on RAW! Same place in PAX.

I've booked 3 nights for the championship weekend already. Fort Motel had a few places open and was nice. Reasonable cost too. 65$ / night for 1 queen bed. 75$ / night for 2 beds.

Thanks for putting on a great school! Wish I was there for the Sunday session as well. Next year.....

Definitely have a lot to chew on for the season. I will get that rhythm down for the slaloms!

SASC Events / Re: 2015 Solo 2 Schedule
« on: June 01, 2015, 08:33:31 AM »
Not sure what you are looking for here?  Which events?  The entire series?  CSCC events in Red Deer?  Just the SASC?   Or the SoloPro Schools this coming weekend?  There will be a hand-out emailed out this evening (or very soon if I get it) for the SoloPro Schools which includes a schedule.  However, you should be READY TO RUN at 8 am for the SoloPro Schools - a bit earlier than our "usual" events.

For normal events if you get to Fort Macleod around 8 am or shortly after (earlier if you want to help out - which is always welcome!   :)  I usually arrive about 7:30 am to pick up cones, and start laying out the course, etc.) you should be ok to prepare, course walk, do the tire pressures, walk the course and hang out a bit.

However for the SoloPro Schools be sure you are there early and ready to run at 8 am SHARP (we are pretty good about this btw).

There are a number of us including the instructors going there on Friday ... dinner at the Fort Macleod lounge on Hwy 3 (eastbound) - pub with the red metal roof.

oops, definitely meant for my post to be in the school thread! good information in your reply for the normal events though!

Can a full schedule be sent out? I'm looking to see if I need to overnight it Friday or if driving down Saturday early morn can work.

Thanks!

I'm 100% down for intro. Also might be interested in Comp but finances might dictate what if I can swing that one.

What kind of tape do you guys use for avoiding cone damage?

In my experience, cone rubber doesn't really damage the paint; it just sticks on tenaciously.  I use Magic Eraser to take it off (paint), although some people tell me that this will dull the clear coat.  I respond "what clear coat"?  As for 3M, nothing in the world will remove cone rubber -- it chemically bonds with the 3M to make something really black and ugly.  So, use painters tape (low tack, blue stuff) to protect your 3M.  Sounds a biut wrong, doesn't it? :)

I took it to my detailer and they were able to wash/buff it out when I requested a wax ($30!). But yeah the black sticks to 3M pretty good unless you really get into cleaning it.
