SASC Events / Re: Results for April 23/24 at Fort Macleod

Very good event yesterday! Shame about the weather though :-[

I think the weather was actually a good thing.  I needed practise in wet conditions -- badly :)

I am always happy to take passengers on my runs -- no need to feel bashful about asking.

I agree, it was a blast to have such a close competition.

I overheard someone talking about the STR car, and apparently the two drivers were drifting (his words) through the back two corners before the first slalom.  Sounds like they found a driving line and style that allowed them to carry extra speed through those tight turns.  Guess we should have watched their runs more closely.

I plan on making it to as many Helena events as I can.  Great Falls is planning some 2 day events as well, which makes the drive seem less onerous.

Bit of a mixed day at the races.  Nice weather, and we did get in 6 runs each.  There were a ton of first timers, and the event didn't get started until 11:30.

http://greatfallsracing.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/expo-4-10-16_pax.htm

Jo drove very well -- 15th overall PAX out of 61 entries.

I was having a nice battle with Jonathn Mudge (FRS in STX), but he woke up and beat me in the afternoon.  And 2 guys in an STR S2000 (James Rowen, John Weinzettel) beat both of us by so much that it was painful.  I ended up back by 3 seconds raw and 1.5 seconds pax).  And all of this from being the leader in the morning.  Ouch :(

And the border dude was grumpy and yelled at me :(

Sadly, we won't make it to Top Gun this year, since we are going to be somewhere on the east coast at that time of year.

Jo and I will be going to the opening event in Great Falls this coming weekend.  Anyone else planning on an early start to the season?

Gwynn used #50 more often that Carter, which is why he showed up as using that number.  If you want, I could show a list of names who used a given number last year.

There is always conflict.  Peope who don't read either forum, people from other clubs and other provinces, people who come back after an absence of many years, people with a new car that has numbers painted on the side, and so on.

It's not a big deal at almost any event.  My software makes it easy to select a number and painters tape is always an easy fix for the day when a conflict occurs.  Go ahead and use that CSCC forum list if you want to pick a reasonably unused number.

Is there anyway we can reserve numbers for the season? I'm thinking it'd be nice to get some magnetic numbers for this year!

Give me a few days and I will write a program to go through last year's data and print out a list of numbers+drivers.

BTW, I think I did the equivalent of the Intro 5-6 times ... always learned something ... not a waste at all.  Other schools I did a number of times also.  But I think Murray (and Jo) is the champ of that, having taken all schools every year he's been around I think!

Yep -- 9 years and I have taken a course (or two) every year.  However, Jo and I will not be taking a course this year.

Miata.net forum people are saying that it adds 135 lbs.  It also comes with softer suspension :(

Are your calculations correct?  BS PAX placements are 35,57,61,74,79,80,114,175.  Doesn't seem like a set of values likely to come in 2nd overall.

I was just going to hold it in the terminal building on site, so no need for special trips.
