COVID-19 Update: 2020 SASC Season Suspended

The upcoming 2020 SASC season is suspended at this time as a result of the Alberta Chief Medical Officer of Health (CMOH) Order 07-2020, released March 27, 2020 (https://open.alberta.ca/publications/cmoh-order-07-2020-2020-covid-19-response). This Order prohibits all gatherings of more than 15 people in outdoor locations in Alberta and will remain in effect until rescinded by the CMOH.

The Club Executive is continuing to monitor the situation, but at this time it seems unlikely that the Order will be rescinded, or restrictions relaxed, prior to Club’s first events planned for the May 2-3 weekend in Fort MacLeod. As the number of affected events becomes clearer, the Club will work with our venue providers to find potential alternate dates later in the summer/fall. Our insurance provider has made it clear that they will work with us on any date or venue changes to ensure we have coverage.

As things change in the future, and once it looks likely that we will be able to resume our event schedule, the Club will provide updates through the Facebook page and Forum with as much prior notice as possible. Depending on what CMOH restrictions and recommendations remain in place at that time, we will look at various ways to proceed including entry caps, flexible cancellation/refund policies, and additional sanitation and social distancing measures.
