For those that want to get in some early racing without having to drive to points far, far south :)

Jo and I are going, as well as Wayne D.

I'm not available that weekend, but am curious about the venue.
Sounds like it's a parking lot? I've heard of some higher speed solo2's in Montana, but I'm guessing this is not the place.

Parking lot at their expo center. Fairly large it seems: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VlbL_xxgupI

Dang wish I could attend, but money is tight as it is prepping for the season and trying to build a stupid show car on the side >:(
-
Thanks Murray .... that might be worth attending ... just drove through there..... 3 hours south of Lethbridge ... so about 5 hours travel time one-way.
It is seat time ... and we don't have an event until the end of April.

I hear ya about the money. Car in getting new rotors, brakes and replacement of all fluids. And have you seen the price of tires this year? Yikes! Even worse, ZII Star Specs are out of stock until mid-June :(

USD is painful indeed. But shouldn't you be buying Bridgestones now? I was impatient and bought ZIISS before the new tires were available. Find some 17's and I'll sell you mine. 8)

Are Bridgestones the new "it" tire? At a minimum, I would like to see some reviews before deciding. I really like the feel of the ZIIs, and their stiff sidewalls allow me to stuff a 225 width on a 6.5" wide wheel.

I ordered Z11s and RS-3 Z222 from Kyle, not cheap :(

Possible solution that links the topic and discussion together. Order some tires to be installed in Great Falls before the event. It doesn't help with the exchange rate but if you use the tires you should be clear on any duty crossing back.

Registered! The car is back from the shop; I just need to bed in the brakes.

Thanks! It was a fun day, although the wind was pretty brutal all day. The course was tight and technical, so it let our AP1 shine -- 1st gear for almost 50% of the course :o

Nice work!

Well done guys :)

FYI, Cam handily won the "Reasonably Priced Car (RPC)" challenge. An old Miata with no power steering, and anyone could take a run for $5. They made Cam take a second run because they didn't believe his time :)

That's great ;D

What can I say, I have a knack for autocrossing beaters.
Was a good event though, nice sized venue, would be awesome to have something like that here. Wind definitely sucked, pretty cold in the morning but at least it wasn't snowing.

One conclusion I can draw from the event -- Dunlop ZII tires definitely do not go bad over the winter.

Congrats Jo, Murray, Wayne & Cam, very impressive.
Cam you were driving a 350Z, what happened to your Miata?
-
Great showing by everyone that went down. I guess the rest of us will have some catching up to do at the first event.
-
I have to admit that this last weekend was a great ego booster. I haven't set FTD raw for a long time, and having competitors coming up and acting awestruck (or dis-believing) was pretty nice. The icing on the cake was having one guy calling the four of us "ringers" (in a nice way) as we drove away in the evening :)

Was co-driving with Wayne in his car. Little more economical for a one day trip. Plus.. the Z has torque :D

That's great news Murray and a fabulous way to start your season. Sounds like I'm going to get my arse kicked when I see you guys in a couple of weeks. :(
