Our little yellow convertible is both our autocross car and our date/roadtrip car (I even strap my mountain bikes to it for Wednesday night and weekend rides when the weather is conducive to top down driving).  So to reduce wear due to unintentional hooning on our RE71s, I swap them on the day before an event and swap them back off usually the day after.  This also lets me do a proper wheels off inspection of the suspension and brakes as I work my way through the checklist before I hand it in (instead of just checking the boxes while I'm standing there at registration).

ad on kijiji is here:

Make me a reasonable offer so I can get rid of them - I bought these a few years ago to put studded tires on for my wagon at ice dice but never got around to it.  Will also trade these for an ice-dice co-drive this winter if that works.

Anyone have a cool front bucket seat that would be suitable for me to attach to a rolling base to make into an office chair?  I'm kind of partial to GTI/VW plaids but open to other ideas too.  Must be inexpensive and I'd prefer something that wasn't too ratty looking.

Thanks,

John

How difficult logistically was it to have grid on the runway instead of on the pad?

Remember to have the porta-potties placed down at the pit+grid area :)  Outside of that, it seemed pretty normal.

The lack of overlap is the biggest issue:
1. Plan on shorter courses than you usually do
2. Plan on this design only for events with low attendance (perhaps have 2 designs on hand and flip depending on attendance)

3.  Plan on an entrance cap to match the total attendance to the course size?

We ran into this problem last summer (50+ people due to pent up demand?) combined with a late set-up/start and a longer course that resulted in only 3 runs each by the time a late lunch was finally called.  It might be a good idea to do some form of Murray's #2 regardless for those events where the numbers spike up.

Thanks!  Check it now -- I think it is all there.

Huh, would you look at that, third overall, at least until someone else makes it to their 6th event:).

FYI, minimum age of passengers is 14.

Yeah, not a problem - she's 19, but has a tiny noggin.

My daughter is coming along for some ride-alongs this weekend, please make sure the size-small helmet gets thrown in when packing up cones, etc.

Thanks guys, John

Looks like Gary made it into the Ladies classing.

My feedback - I really enjoyed the tight transition between the eyebrow and the gate in the morning (I might be in the minority but it was very satisfying to actually get that right for at least one run).  I also had a blast figuring out the counterclockwise sweeper on the apron for the afternoon, I actually got my car to rotate after the brake zone on more than one run which was very cool.

Kathleen & Cameron ran the light silver 2003 in STR, I think they have shocks/springs/tires/wheels.

Patrick had the red '94, he got bumped out of ES into STS because of a brake booster brace, but is running 14" falkens on his stock wheels.

I have wheels and tires only on my STS sunburst, but the proper 7.5x15 wheels that are the limit in STS.  I have a header I bought off Dave hanging in my garage waiting for install that I'm installing more for bling than the 3 hp I might gain out of it.  Eventually, when I win the lottery or get another engineering job (feels like the same odds), we'll definitely do a serious spring/shock upgrade along with a front sway bar and some type of camber adjustment upgrade, but will probably avoid going as far as an ECU upgrade.

I didn't get a chance to talk to the #64 driver in the darker grey.

And Dave has pretty much everything on his car.

I think the main difference between the STS & STR cars is differential - open and the 1.6l viscous diff are in STS, the 1.8l cars with LSDs are in STR.

Beau also came out to the Airdrie event in a '96 that's new to him this year, but we'll likely only see him at Airdrie.

Will we also be trying to squeeze 2019 tech in at this event too, or will we be trying to make the most of the event time and defer tech to the first event down at Ft. McLeod?

It doesn't let me pick #76, it still has my wife's name beside it when I scroll through the pull down list and its greyed out, is this maybe an MSReg issue on my side?  John

Will numbers be uploaded into MSReg soon?  I noticed that my number still defaults to last year's number.

Thanks,

John

Did they give you an ETA? I'm wondering how long in advance to order my tires.

Just the standard 10-15 days that Costco always gives, and I haven't received a shipping notice yet (which is useless as it links to a carrier that doesn't share actual location info, I suspect its for the weekly semi of tires coming in).  That's all for ordering online - I like being able to book an appointment instead of lining up before 6am for installs.
