Another one on BAT, in Seattle...

Unfortunately the Dealerships have a bit of protection from importing these to Canada...  as we aren't able to.

That one is old enough - you can bring it in.  Looks like it's got a Honda motor but I didn't look in to it.

Sploosh.  I got too much going on to be a buyer this year, but I'm sure you'll have no trouble selling.

ATBS and MSO both seem to work great.

Any chance of someone going through sweetgrass in the coming ~4 months?  My sway bar ends are toast, and as it happens there is a rare group-buy happening for new sway bars right now.  Would not likely ship before May.  Delta on shipping is an additional $70USD to get it from Montana to YYC, which is just silly.

Hi Adam, I am interested in trying to run something that is actually supposed to be fast.  Could possibly trade a co-drive in the truck for a future co-drive in the s2k or something along those lines.  I am shaking out vacation plans at the moment so not 100% sure what events I'll be doing.

Totally fair on the salvage one.  My point on the Canadian vehicles being at a premium is that in a few years, there will be a much larger pool of vehicles available at any given time since we can import them from other markets.  At that time the Canadian vehicles will reset to whatever the US market is at.  So don't over-pay now is what I'm suggesting.

I've wanted an Exige in the worst way for a long time.

Two things worth noting:
1. The vast majority sold in North America were 2006 & 2007 models.  At 15 years old, they become eligible for import from the US & Japan.  That's only a few years away.  Generally I think the Canadian vehicles have been at a premium to the US market.  Lotustalk forums are a good resource for price checking.

2.  If you want a track-only exige, there is a guy in Saskatoon trying to sell one that was written off.  Quite a lot of detective work went in to the comments section of his BAT sale effort, and ultimately the car didn't sell.  Motivated seller with lots of history on the car available.  I linked the BAT auction a few weeks ago in the cars for sale part of this forum.  Might be a good option.  With actual race tracks being built you'd have no trouble selling it locally I think.  Current seller probably paid too much for it.

3. Dibs on a ride along.

Similar to the rolling thread we have for Rock Auto discount codes, I thought we should start one for people doing border orders.  Recently 5 of us organized well to pickup a lot of stuff in Sweetgrass in one trip.  If you are planning on heading down for any reason and can bring items back please post below with a bit of notice.  Wonder if mods want to pin this and the Rock Auto thread?

No more Westerner events - or just no more joint SASC/CSCC championship?

Standard practice in the 3 years I've been here - Rookie is 2 seasons from first event, regardless of frequency of events participated in during that time.

I am certainly interested.  The only catch for me is that it's the first semi-decent weather we've had in eons and I need to get some wrench time in this weekend.  I should be able to get a lot done Saturday but won't know until I get out there.

Automotive Marketplace / Lotus Exige 260 - Prev. Write-Off - Saskatoon
« on: February 01, 2018, 03:59:39 PM »
There's a 2011 Lotus Exige S260 on Bring A Trailer in Saskatoon right now.

The catch is that it was written-off at some point in Ontario, some details & links to photos are in the comments, some is unknown.  Personally, I don't think the tub is bent.   Current owner states they drove it on a temporary permit from Ontario (how?)

Anyways, thought I'd share.  Could be a lot of car for the money, within an easy drive of YYC.  Personally I've lusted after an Exige for a long, long time, but won't be bidding here due to other priorities.

That sounds like a fight for ASN to get after - well beyond what anyone at the club level can directly influence.

Very recently I switched to TD, and they want to refuse insurance if you're part of a "Car Club".  Meanwhile they offer collector's insurance which is a bit of an oxy-moron when you think about it - rarely are the two separated.
