Something to consider regarding owning our own space would be frequency of use.  IMO, it would need to be based in Calgary in order to run weekly+ events, therefore bringing more substantial revenues to pay for it.  Calgary has the population to support this; and enough varied car clubs outside of our own to run additional special events.

If I were a gambling man, I'd say our best bet would be Tsuu T'ina.  They're in development mode, on the ring road, and not subject to Calgary's bylaws (noise) or seemingly endless supply of  NIMBYs.

Tara, see if you can root around for Ian Gulinao's contact info.  He is/was a regular photographer at our events and sold photos afterwards.  I have him on Flickr but don't have his contact info...

I tried them recently and the tape job for threaded parts was not as good as I'd hoped.  Had to do a bit of filing in some places.  But, price was right.  They have a big oven, so a chassis can fit no problem.

I get the 25th-29th week off, likely will use that time to get things ready.  Maybe we can chat more in January...

I'd have to pull a tape measure to be sure.  Overhang is ok, and I can literally pick the chassis up so weight is not an issue.

I broke a few bolts off though which is an issue.  Need to resolve that before powder coating, and probably won't have time until the Xmas break.

Hi all, I'm fixing up an old Hilux and needing to borrow a trailer to get the chassis to and from powdercoating.  So it's a 2x borrow for a couple hours, about 2 weeks apart.

The chassis itself is quite light and small, maybe 12' long, and I can comfortably pick up one end and drag it around with my computer muscles.

I can get a truck to tow with through work.

If anyone's willing to help me out that'd be great, otherwise I suppose I can go the uhaul route.

I've got a pair of 265/35 and 285/35 from Ryan's Cayman.  Was going to try them out on my truck but never got that far...

This is something I've been focusing on more lately.  Our Toyota group competed this past summer in a relatively small and extremely tight lot in Kelowna that has some serious bumps and dips.  Focusing on this allowed my big truck to outrun the AWD cars on better tires - one of whom I can't touch at YYC.

Also, doing winter driver / ice dice stuff on Ghost, weight transfer understanding is #1 if you want to be in control and fast.

It's a key thing to learn!

John my experience was full pressure was fine when there was snow, and particularly drifts/banks.  But I ran in the 18psi range on sheer ice (down from 35) and while it helped a lot, it was still frustrating as beep.

Hope to get out there on studded tires again soon.  Have just the hooptie for it now...

Sound slick.  I always struggle to know my cone count and am usually out of range for the score keeping on my phone out in grid.

Price seems very reasonable.  GLWS, this is one I'd enjoy owning.

I really think this is a discussion that's better suited to the AGM and/or the Monthly Club Meetings...

- Westerner venue was managed by the CSCC not by us so the future of that venue is in their hands

I think it would very prudent to offer to take over the Westerner bookings from CSCC going forward. Chris was unable to find a replacement before moving, and CSCC has multiple openings in their leadership going in to yearly elections, including Solo Director.

If SASC doesn't step in here I suspect no one will, which means no Red Deer venue for 2018.  That location seems to take a lot of extra coordination due to other events happening there.

Someone came to Calgary as a spectator in a brown Datsun pickup with a bare-metal tailgate back in the summer.  Meant to go find the owner and get a closer look.

If anyone is in mid-life-crisis mode there's two outstanding 510's on Bringatrailer.com right now.
