Went into sport chek in market mall  (had the misadventure of dropping by for the dermatologist appointment, only to find out I'm a week ahead of the appointment :o) asked for driving shoes and they thought I was speaking Korean. The hunt will continue.

General Discussion / Driving shoes - learn me
« on: May 11, 2018, 04:55:35 PM »
Can anyone recommend me a place for some driving shoes?
I suppose "driving shoes" as a family of shoes can be quite a loose term.  I've driven on a pair of puma BMW shoes which the appearance suggests it's meant to drive with. However I found the bottom to be quite thick. They feel more like sneakers. I've also been driving with indoor running shoes which feels light but even thicker softer bottoms. Ironically, the one day when I drove (a semi-spirited drive to get groceries)with slippers it felt much better transferring the pedal feel to my feet. The lack of thickness of slippers seem to contributed to the improved feedback, and I know I could use a good pair of driving shoes.
Being my second season racing ever, I'm not ready to go all out on the most expensive shoes, but would like to know what are my choices and where would I go buy them.

Thanks in advance.

I see. I suppose so far there have been no instances of insurance company personnel creeping up clients through social media and finding out they have participated in car club events.

Wayne, if you don't mind me asking, how did the insurance company discover your involvement with the events?

With the CSCC ice dice happening next week and subsequently every second week until this March, does that mean Ghost Lake events are going on as usual?

RE71R's on separate rims are definitely in my plans for next season.  I wanted to hear about the FSD's as it was a little confusing in my head, thank you for clearing that up, as well with the rear suspension.  Top of my list for next season is seat time seat time seat time :) want to spend as much time behind the wheel as I can.  The Koni yellows will be a bonus next season if I can afford it.  My swaybar and endlinks have arrived, just scrounging the last few dollars to go have them installed.  Hopefully the weather co-operates and I can make the final Oct 15th event with my new swaybar.  That will probably be all the tread I have left anyway, then its onto studded winters and looking towards Ghost Lake :)

A big thank you again to everyone here for the help/advice/info, I greatly appreciate the support it means alot to have that 8)

Did you buy the sway bar online? How much did it cost you?

Still got them around? If so, let me know what beer or equivalent you'd take :)

I like the those compression numbers and the apparently completed lift bolts SB

Wonder what's the hassles involved in buying a car that far away. OOP for one, shipping for another. P0300 (multiple cylinder misfire) seems a bit concerning.

Got it now! It's been weeks since I checked my email. Second month with no home internet with work blocking gmail and no phone since yesterday makes checking email an occasional chore.
