The fee charged on MSReg was an error on our part.   We will be issuing refund of $10 cash on-site for those at the event.

See you soon!

You are right, Stephen.  Incidentally we had just caught it as well and were discussing it among the executive whether we would issue credits, refunds, or what.

Here's another idea:  What a short seminar on mental preparation ala Jonn Renay?  This went over really well at the SoloPro School we had in June ... dealing with nerves ... or lack thereof .... mental preparation especially with the SCCA Nationals coming up quickly.  I just had lunch with Jonn today and asked him if he was available to do something this weekend ... It is something we don't really talk about in autox and how to deal with all that comes with big events ... and how do you deal with the extra pressure ... or even if you are not feeling pressured ... what about if you cone your first two runs .... it's wet and you have one run left at the SCCA Nats?  How can you still perform at or even beyond your abilities?

Is that possible?

Absolutely!    I watched a bunch of the Rio Olympics (Free views on CBC still available) recently and noticed how many Canadian and US athletes performed beyond their best performances ever at the Olympics!  How do they do that?  How can WE do that?

Thoughts?   Interest?  No interest?   (BTW, I'm waiting to hear back from Jonn so this is not a guarantee at this time).

Other Stuff For Sale / Re: FS: Nicks Garage Moving Sale

I would do it another time, but it is this the only time I can do it before I leave town

I am not doing any pre-sale for stuff in this price range, it is just too much work to coordinate meeting up with people. Plus if somebody changes their mind on a 5$ or 10$ item, I end up getting stuck with it.

Yes, true enough ... gets messy in a hurry.

Good luck Nick!   Also, we have events in Fort Macleod this weekend so this does not work for us.  Would you consider a pre-sale or some other time for some of us?

Technical Talk / Re: car classing by manufacturer
« on: August 24, 2016, 01:33:24 PM »
Car classing is the same for ASN/FiA Canada (across Canada) and all SCCA clubs (across USA) across US including Alaska, Hawaii and even Chile ...

There is also NASA but they are not on the same scale.

Also regionally/locally clubs may adopt some local classes ... like SCCA Cal Club has an Open Pax class (not an official SCCA) and California Mod ... (e.g. anything with a licence plate).

Some rules or car classing may change right away but they will say so.

Otherwise the proposed rules/changes are put out for comment.

If approved by the SEB/BOD then they go into force for Jan. 1 of the following year (2017 is next).  Actually if you look at the last sentence of the 1st sentence of the Fastrack, you will see it says that.

Agreed, it is the group of people working together, pulling together who make these events successful.

We can improve more and make these events even better as we refine the way we do things ... leaps and bounds improvements over the last couple of events.  Thanks to all helping out!

This is great to see!

This is probably my last event this year btw. I took a job in Vancouver that starts in September.

Sorry to hear you are leaving us ... but also understand this work environment is not the greatest right now in Calgary ...

Limit was set at 80 this time.

Technical Talk / Re: Help with Car Classing
« on: August 16, 2016, 07:31:45 AM »
Yeah ... in SP you would also have to transfer all the other pieces that go with the engine ... such as seats, interior trim, and any brakes, drivetrain etc. that belong with that particular pkg.   E.g. you have to transform the car in its entirety.  But as Q said ... usually you just end up in SM with an engine swap within the manufacturer.  Outside of that you end up in XP or some mod class maybe.
