Last year I said I would be stepping down this year and I intend on doing so.  Having said that, like I'm sure all the others, I will be willing to help the new director out in getting set up and running events.  There is a bunch of work there but it can be a good position to take on and tackle ... get to know more people in the club and see what it takes to run events and such.   I think the task list above could probably be updated somewhat ... maybe if I get inspired here and find myself with some extra time, I'll write up, say, a page description with other information that is needed ... e.g. insurance, contacts, cones (getting more etc), all the forms you need for events, setup etc. etc.

Thanks Reijo. I think that's a great idea if we can get some of those critical operating procedures written down to make sure the club maintains some consistency going forward. I'll email you with some drafts to get this going.

That said, I'd like to nominate myself for the Solo Director position.

A little background about myself for those who don't know me:
  • I've autocrossed on-and-off with the CSCC and SASC from 2008-2010, 2015, and participated heavily for the last three seasons.
  • I've regularly attended the SASC Monthly meetings and AGMs for the past 2 years, giving me insight into the club executive goals, issues, and general workings.
  • I've attended multiple Canadian Autoslalom Championships, as well as an SCCA Tour and Nationals, broadening my understanding of how other clubs operate their largest events.
  • I believe in continuing to build a strong safety culture within the club. I've served as the SASC's Safety Steward for the past two seasons.
  • I believe that autocross should be one of the most accessible and inclusive forms of motorsport which fosters some of the tightest competition.
