Hey folks - sorry, one more question from the noob lol. On the Safety Tech self declaration form, one of the lines talks about safety harnesses (FIA or SFI approved) -- is this required for Street D classes (or any other street classes)? My new car just has the OEM seatbelts of course (which is the next line on the form).

Hey - first time solo-crosser here...trying to register my unmodified 2023 Toyota GR86 in the Hagerty website for May 25, and not finding a definitive answer on which class I need to register for. I assume Street, but what are the A through H? I apologize if this is posted in an obvious place (I did do a search on this forum first, and on the web in general, but I'm terribly impatient lol). Hey folks, this will be my first season ever of autocross, and I'll be using an almost new vehicle to do so. I understand that your typical car insurance will not cover you if something happens to your car while you autocross, so what is everyone doing for insurance? Just rolling the dice? Just curious. I'd think the chances of getting into a collision is very very low while autocrossing, so I assume most people just don't bother, and are prepared to cover their own damages if something occurs...?? Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
An update: I'd recommend anyone worrying about insurance while autocrossing and while NOT autocrossing (which was a newer concern for me) and how insurance companies think, have a discussion with someone like Bill Eckhart at Touchstone Insurance. He was very helpful with clearing it all up.

Yes - I've lowered my expectations to simply trying to find an insurer that will not void or terminate my regular coverage if they were to find out about autocrossing. I'd like everything to be on the up and up -- I just can't understand why insurance companies care if you autocross if they aren't going to cover it anyways...it is not a criminal act or anything like it.

Definitely loaner helmets available. At the busier Airdrie events it can be challenging to snag one with the number of first timers we see out. There is definitely a small and an x-small, my oldest has used both at Airdrie.
VERY good to know!! My boy is sooo excited he would be crushed if he couldn't ride along, so I'll make the call whether to get him his own helmet or roll the dice on being able to borrow... THANKS!

Hey folks. Looking to join next season, and all my helmets are way too old (motorcycle helmets) to meet standards. Wondering if there is a go-to cheap but good helmet suitable for autocross and other potential track days (or a particular retailer to go see). I'll need to buy 2 so the more affordable the better Thanks in advance!!!

My son and I had a blast watching one event earlier this summer. Wondering if the Nationals is the same in terms of allowing spectators and filling out form at gate? Sorry for pestering -- it is a long drive so just want to make sure! Thanks!!!
