SEB/SCCA 2016 rules changes ...

Here's a summary of the proposed rule changes.

SCCA/SEB is giving us a heads-up and so we have an opportunity to provide input.

Check out the November preview Fastrack article here:

The SEB will be withdrawing the proposal to move the non-z06 c5 corvette to AS. It will remain in BS.

Not unexpected, but I think the C5 will be the new spec car for BS.

The results just don't bear this out though.  Out of 10 tour and nats this season the following happened:
-S2K won 2 events (including Nationals)
-Vette won 4
-Other cars won the remaining 4
-Breaking down top 5's, Vettes have 17, S2K's have 16 and others have 17.

If the Vette won the majority I would tend to agree, but it looks to me like it is still a mixed bag in BS.

I agree that the data doesn't support me, but I am going on the perception at Lincoln.  If the west course hadn't had weather related issues, I believe the Corvettes would have cleaned up.

I hope next year proves me wrong, but I expect to see a lot more C5's at Lincoln next year.

A Corvette hadn't won SS/SSR for like 5 or 6 years (more?) until this year but they were and are still, far and away the most popular car in then SS and now SSR class. I suggest it's possible that people just find them great cars to race and that Murray could be right...but just not for the reasons that he thinks :)

You could be exactly right about this.  Problem is, Jo won't allow a Corvette in the garage, so it's a non-starter for us.

You know what they say, the grass is always greener on the other side Murray!  ;)

I've got my digs up for sale... you could easily fit a corvette into the garage... or 4
