Thanks for the suggestions Stephen, we'll chase down your ideas too (Dallin was going to post up on Facebook after we made the events public last night).  I did email everyone with a 2021 membership yesterday morning, so we did get it out to everyone already a member, but a facebook post with a 'see the members section' note and a 'not a member, get one here...' could push to a few more memberships (although I do have to add new members so they can see the members only section here - so get your membership soon:)).

SASC Events / 2021 Season Opener at Airdie Air Park - June 26 & 27
« on: June 10, 2021, 09:03:40 PM »
With the recent announcements made by the Alberta government, the executive is preparing to launch the SASC season with a double header weekend at Aidrie Airpark on June 26th and 27th.  Event registration is now open at the following links:

2021 SASC Schedule (Subject to Change) as of June 2, 2021;
June 26 - Airdrie - Championship Event 1 Presented by Urban X Wheel & Tire (https://www.urbanexp.ca/) - https://msreg.com/sasc2021airdrie1
June 27 - Airdrie - Championship Event 2 - https://msreg.com/sasc2021airdrie2

Please note that if you purchased a membership in the last couple of days that the 2021Membership discount code may not work (I have to manually go in and add the discount code to your profile).  If it doesn't work just drop me an email so I can add the discount to your registration and you should see a refund on your credit card.  Please also note that if you requested family members under a family membership who do not have MSReg profiles, their discount codes will not be set up until you've let me know that their profiles are now active.

Hope to see you all there.

Yep, just turned them live a few minutes ago, prior to that you needed the link to sign up.

Announcements / 2021 Reserved Numbers
« on: June 03, 2021, 09:37:56 PM »
As in previous seasons, SASC will allow members to reserve racing numbers for the duration of the 2021 season, these will be preassigned in Motorsport Reg. So if you’ve ever wanted to purchase a set of magnetic or static cling numbers now you can.

In order to reserve a particular racing number you must:

1.   Have a valid 2021 SASC Membership (https://www.motorsportreg.com/events/southern-alberta-solosport-club-sasc-membership-973862)

2.   Reserve one of the following numbers:
1-199: Reserved Numbers Only (non-members cannot use these numbers)
200-699: Open Numbers (members can also reserve)
700-999: NEW DRIVERS ONLY (have done less than 3 autocross events) (this is so we can easily identify first time, new drivers)
Other numbers (i.e. 1000+ are not permitted)

3.   Numbers will be on a  first come, first served basis.  If you included your number preference in your MSReg membership registration form, I have assigned these numbers in the order that the members were registered.  If you need to change your number listed below prior to the first event, please send me an email at secretary.sasc@gmail.com and I will update your number.

5.   You can only reserve one number unless you have registered for a family membership and you have included those numbers in your registration. If you have a co-driver, he or she must also be a member and request that number him/herself

The current list of reserved numbers is as follows, please let me know by email if you see any errors in your assigned number:

In each class
1-99 for first driver
100-199 for second driver

Member Discussion (Private) / Re: Nominations for 2021 Secretary
« on: October 21, 2020, 07:49:23 AM »
Thanks Adam, appreciate the nomination.

A little background on me - I'm a 27 year engineer who took up autocross four years ago after my wife and I took one of Reijo's winter driving courses.  I campaign a 1992 sunburst miata (completely unprepared for the class I'm running in) and have found its a great summer diversion while I've been looking for work.  I'm looking to give back some of my time to the club.

I've got my wife's medium Shoei M-2015 (at least I think its a medium, can't find the tag inside) you are welcome to borrow if it fits.  If you are in Calgary this week drop me a message and you can swing by and pick it up, we're up behind COP.

SASC Events / Re: Second driver
« on: September 08, 2020, 07:27:09 AM »
If they are someone you will always be registering (i.e. spouse, kid, etc.), you can add a profile under My Account on the MSReg website, then go through the registration process again.  You do need a bit of personal information to do this step though and when I asked about picking someone else's already populated profile (i.e. the other person already had an account with their info entered) MSReg didn't have a way for me to do it.

SASC Events / Re: Scores for August 8, 2020 event at Fort Macleod
« on: August 08, 2020, 09:12:21 PM »
There seems to be some oddness going on with the overall scores - Greg seems to be at the top of the STS standings but I seem to be at the top of the STOUR standings, looks like my scores for today made it into STOUR but not STS.

It also looks like Shannon and Derrick's first event show up under STOUR instead of Cam.

P.S.  Great course design Jared!

Automotive Marketplace / 5x112 20mm spacers
« on: February 09, 2020, 06:17:44 PM »
I have a pair of 5x112 20mm spacers, 57.1mm hub centric and wheel centric (i.e. VW and Audi spec).  I used these on my B5 Passat, then my C5 Allroad before trying to use them on my 2011 TDI.  They worked fine for the first two cars but the taper on the bore of my factory wheels on the TDI meant that the wheel centric lip was too short.

$50 OBO, I'll probably put these on Kijiji eventually but thought I'd offer them up here first.  Photos available on request (basically, they are a solid design with no relief machining).
