Title: Ice dice this Sunday, March 12 - Instructor appreciation day ...
Post by: Reijo on March 08, 2017, 10:29:43 AM
Just in case I put the insurance in place  - no extra cost since we pay a yearly rate btw.

Just realized I had not posted on this forum specifically about this.

Suggestion:  Free for all instructors from the winter schools.

Nominal fee for others (TBD) ... say $20.

Timing ... or maybe just a lapping day at worst?  Course would be a variation (a few "key" changes) of the last one ... over 5 km. long ... longer than Race City.

Who's in?

If you are an instructor or helper from this year, just use the pay-at-site option and we will not charge you.  Otherwise $20 to enter.

BTW, we just got our instructor jackets in.  If there are new instructors or you don't have a jacket, we will have them at the lake on Sunday.  (Thanks Tom G.!)

I've got jackets for those instructors and volunteers that don't yet have a blue or red SASC jacket and helped us out for two or more events this year! I'll get them to Reijo this weekend and he will hand out on Sunday.

Last week's conditions were pretty awesome.  It's set up to be a great day!

Just clarifying the "pre-req's" are the same as the training days..

Yes, this is open to anyone.  I know of some non-members who may be showing up.

Timing is in place (Murray is coming out with timing gear and radios.  Thanks Murray!) and since this is a timed event, we will need helmets.  Club has a few helmets for loaners.

I think I may set up a big G-circle for test 'n tune and teaching purposes near the pits ... maybe even a short course???

So, this will be a regular ice dice/solo on ice ...

Could someone please bring some boxes or egg crates to the event on Sunday?  I don't have any, but I am sure that we will have timing issues without something to keep the sensors out of the flying snow and ice.

If anybody has a car with 5x100 hubs that will fit 14" rims over the brakes, I have some studded tires that are available for use. (max length allowable at the CSCC events)

Conditions should be awesome this weekend! Last weekend at the event, the guys measured around 23" of ice  :)

Will see about buying some ... not too expensive and we can use them as well.

I'll have four tires for my driving studded that you can use to lift the timing gear up too if needed.

I'll be at the carpark around 7.30am.

Stoked for one more day!!

Someone just pointed out that the regular registration (non-student etc) option was not available on the MSReg.com site ... not sure what happened but thanks to a little help from my friends (Murray!   :)  ), this is now fixed and you can pay the $20 on-line instead of on-site.

So if you chose the on-site payment option, you can go back and edit that and pay on-line ... which is what we would prefer.

My apologies for the mix-up ....

thanks,

Reijo

Huge thanks to everyone who helped organise today.  Was a little bumpy, and a bit snowy, but great fun!
