In case anyone wants to jump on the bandwagon... http://portland.craigslist.org/mlt/cto/5144228823.htmlIts a 2002 Corvette C5 Z06. I run the car is SSR autox, also prepped well for AS. Gets excellent mileage and makes a great weekend car. Parts replaced over the last year:
Hawk Front brake pads Front brake rotors Motul 600 brake fluid Green filter panel filter New oem gm Maf NGK spark plugs Spark plug wires Front wheel bearings Koni monotube shocks Stranoparts 33mm front sway bar Whiteline Endlinks
Car has around 100k on it. Drives great, interior is in excellent shape for its age. Would like the car to go someone who is going to use it for its intended purpose. If not I will return the car to stock to sell it. I have all of the oem stuff.
I will have interior pictures available anytime, and all the decals pictured on the car are temporary of course.
Asking 18.5k OBO

I went up against Clements in the CMod car in the 2nd round and was trailing by .2 or something after one side. I had left it at the tree with a terrible .8 reaction time so I promptly red lit the other side (0.498) trying to make it up First time in a super challenge.

I wouldn't personally describe the courses as just sweepers. No more really than other courses on other massive venues. If you are going to use the space up, you are going to have to turn. Obviously compared to our runway venue and postage stamp in red deer...well, there are some big turns. The first day's 'slalom' was really only a 3 cone affair with mostly a crooked straight after but on day two I feel it was a genuine 5 cone slalom (arguably 6) with a super fast entry...not sure what others are seeing. There was also another 3 cone slalom, a fast lane change maneuver, and some pretty massive transitions at day one end/day two start so in general a typical well balanced course? That said, looking at PAX results the event definitely seemed to favor race tires besides a few anomalies. We may just throw our names in with the NWR crowd as we did last year...I'll forward them a list of names and member numbers once they have an organizer available.

Also, I have a $70USD single queen bed room reserved at the Mountain View lodge in Packwood for the July 10th and 11th...the tour weekend. By far the nicest place for $70 a night in Packwood and there are no more of these single rooms available. Before I cancel it, if someone want a nice room I could switch the reservation to your name.
Got let me know soon, I'll be letting the room go tomorrow.

Who is attending this year? Paddock registration is open for groups of 6 of more. All members of group must be registered for the event in order to reserve spots. I know we have 6 but before making the request (if we plan to paddock together) we should get everyone going on the list.
The following is who I know is going but may not yet be registered. Who else?
Stephen H Ryan C Cam W Jess W Jay Z Orietta Z

This is just a small reminder that anyone planning to attend the PROSOLO should likely not wait until the last minute to sign up. SCCA has a guideline this year that any event not reaching 120 competitors 2 weeks prior is on the block to get cancelled. There is currently just 70 entered with 20 days left to register.
If you don't plan to go, you should!

While this might the blanket rules yes, it still allows for stupidly loud cars. Sound sensitive sites and areas are free to impose whatever restrictions they see fit. San Diego and Packwood for example adhere to a strictly enforced 93dB limit. As I'm changing the exhaust on the vette, I'm interested to have the dB meter brought out to the next event to confirm it remains well under 93dB. Who has this? Thanks, Ryan Per 2015 SCCA Solo National Rules:
The maximum limit will be 100 dBA. The measurement will be taken at a point where the vehicle can reasonably be expected to be under load at full throttle. The measuring point will be 50 feet from the edge of the course using an ANSI Type 2 sound meter set to “A” weighting, “Slow” response. The microphone will be 3 to 4 feet above ground level, positioned perpendicular to vehicle direction of travel. The microphone will be away from structures (e.g., buildings) as is practical. 100dB, 50' to the side of a car at full throttle is a ridiculously loud car. I'm certain we don't have anything that comes anywhere near that. And I don't believe we have any local supplemental regs that state lower. The club does have testing equipment, though I don't think we've used it in a long time.
I think when we lost Grey Eagle it was more so to do with tire squeal noise not the exhaust noise like E6Cueman said.

FYI The rule about wheeled things you cite is an issue for grid...not transportation around the site.
Also, in general, you can't be on wheels when 'walking' the course but it's also not seen as an issue if you are travelling at normal walking speeds. Even at SCCA Nationals there are many (ok a couple) golf carts on course 'walks' for people with disabilities or injury.

The Utah match tour has moved closer to us from the previous St George location. It's now just north of SLC in Farmington, UT. A local described the site like this: The entire site has been paved with fresh unsealed (grippy) asphalt. It's right off the interstate, should make for a great Tour site. https://www.google.com/maps/@40.9786997,-111.9081454,359m/data=!3m1!1e3

The triangle does point to the location of the wear bars, but it is also placed at the point where the tread meets the sidewall. Pretty good place to stop rollover.
I don't think there is any standard on where the triangle is placed on relative to usable tread on a tire so as a universal point of reference across all tires, they seem all but completely useless.

Is he suggesting varying pressures using the triangle on the sidewall as a measure of where the tire should roll over to?
I'm pretty sure the triangle is there to point to where the wear bars are located in the tread? Kinda of irrelevant to rollover?
