Any interest in a Garage Star Delrin Door Bushings Group Buy? http://garagestar.com/blog/?product=garage-star-delrin-door-bushings

Works with NA, NB, NC and ND Miata's. Consensus seems to be increased chassis rigidity with decreased rattles/noise, reviews - http://clubroadster.net/vb_forum/85-junior-sponsors/205113-garage-star-delrin-door-bushings.html
Just seeing how much interest there is so I can provide some numbers to see what kind of deal we can get on the pricing.
So far we have interest for 3 sets.
-
Interest for 5 sets total so far.
If we get 15 sets ordered, price *should* (GarageStar to confirm shipping) be $50 USD plus ~$40 shipping split amongst 15 people which would come out to $53 USD total for a set.
Regular pricing is $85.55 USD for a set of these door bushings shipped to Calgary.
-
Thanks for the heads up, but for me I think $50 worth of gas and more seat will do more for my lap times than door bushings. LOL. 8)
-
So a bushing (allegedly) providing additional chassis stiffness will bump you into ST class, right?
-
Yeah, the bushings probably won't do much (if anything) for lap times. After reading the glowing reviews, I am just hoping these make my car a little less uncomfortable ;).
I'll see if I can find any solid info about classing changes. It should be less than a 5 minute job to remove the 4 screws with a ratchet (they need to be tight) and swap the stock bushings on before an event if necessary.
So far:
1. k1l4m - 1 set
2. Jordon D (Facebook group) - 2 sets
3. David M (Facebook group) - 1 set
4. Ryan S (Facebook) - 1 set (contingent upon reaching 15 sets)
5. seat safety switch (CSCC) - 1 set

If the rules don't explicitly say that it is allowed, then it is illegal. Under street class rules, there is no mention of door bushings. The rules do allow ""comfort and convenience" items that do not affect performance. Since the ads claim increased chassis rigidity, then the bushings are definitely not allowed in street class.
-
Easy solution is to bring the stock (maybe new stock ones for added rigidity?) items along and swap them out - only 4 bolts each as you mention. Agree with Murray, definitely not legal for street class.....even though the increase in performance is likely not much. However if you have a "few" such items, people might find the car much faster ... It's a slippery slope ... :)
-
Thanks for the clarification for people in street classes, good info Murray and Reijo.
-
I would be interested in a set for my street car.

Just weld the doors up Stuart, and climb in like Dukes & Hazard 8)

Getting in the race car is enough of a yoga experiment for me, the street car should have some degree of comfort :P

Speaking to the owner of GarageStar, this pricing only applies if we get 15 people. Not sure if there is any deal if we don't reach 15 other than us all splitting shipping ourselves maybe. Hope we do reach 15 since we will be saving $32USD / $40 CAD each.
-
Since we seem to be stuck at 9. Here is the pricing for 9 sets as per GarageStar owner, Ken:
"I can get the orders in a flat rate envelope. Shipping will be $21.
Bushings $526.50
Shipping $21.00
547.50 Total
$60.83 per person"
Regular pricing is still 85.55USD shipped so $60.83USD is still a good deal. I'll send everybody a message to confirm interest as well but feel free to post here too.

Looks like we had some solid additions to the roster today and should be getting the pricing originally proposed (~$53USD) and maybe even better than that now.
Waiting on a few email addresses and will try and have the payment info passed on to GarageStar by Thursday.
-
Last bump before we order. I will be passing on everyone's email to GarageStar by the end of today or sometime tomorrow.
Still waiting for a few people to send me their email addresses.
