Hi everyone, I've decided to step down from my position as Treasurer for the 2024 season. In my place, I've nominated Patrick as new Treasurer. Patrick has been a dedicated member of the club, with consistent attendance and valuable support in running events. If anyone else would like to run against Patrick please feel free to do so. We will have an official vote at the AGM this Saturday.
I plan to continue my position as Novice Coordinator, but happy to relinquish that role as well if anyone else is interested.
Thank you, Dallin B

oh hey as per needing announcer for 2 heats i can do announcing during my rest groups! i would be happy to do that if there is a supply of water! i have a codriver who can look after the car during my pre run rest group.
We have you as our main announcer already! We need someone to fill in for the other two heats, as you will be running in one heat and in impound the other heat.

We will not require any specific autocrossing license in order to enter.
We will be strict on having your car number prominently displayed on the vehicle. Not sure if we will ask for class letters however, let me get back to you. We won't have extra numbers but we can supply painters tape for you to make your own.
Similar to SCCA national level events, we will have three "points runs" per day. Your score will be your best Saturday run + your best Sunday run.
At this point the plan is to have time available on Saturday after all points runs have been completed for fun runs or test n tune runs. This may change if attendees increase dramatically however.

🚨Sound Limit Increase Update!🚨
After speaking with the venue, we are excited to announce that we are increasing the sound limit at the Airdrie Air Park! The new sound limit will be 98.0 dB for modified exhausts, or unlimited if your exhaust is stock.
This change is effective immediately, so if you've been holding out on coming out due to worries about being turned away, we would love to have you back!
The upcoming Airdrie events are: - July 16 - August 13 - August 26/27 (nationals)
All events are live on MSreg, so sign up today!
Note: changes are just for Airdrie, Fort Macleod will continue to have a 92.9 dB limit.

Although I think the definition of a rookie as per msreg is 2 years experience or less, I would say that given Jonathan's attendance consistency as well as winning the rookie class last year would take him out of rookie class this year. The spirit of the rookie class is to give brand new participants an even playing field, and personally I think Jonathan is driving above that level now.

In order to give all our regular SASC competitors another chance to get some regular season points, we have decided to make our nationals an official season points event.
In order to qualify for points, competitors will be required to attend both Saturday and Sunday. Your points for the weekend will be the sum of your best time on Saturday and your best time on Sunday, similar to how we do best AM + best PM to arrive at your total score in a regular single day event.
With that in mind, your total score for the season will be your best 7 out of 11 events.
Any question let us know!

Being a nationals event we will have to go by the book, which I believe will put it in the catch all under SSP. I don't disagree there are faster cars in lower classes, but that's just how it goes sometimes with the SCCA classifications!

Mark your calendars, the SASC has officially been approved to host the 2023 Canadian National Autocross Championship!
The event will take place at the Airdrie Airpark, on August 26th and 27th. Located on Township Road 270 in Airdrie, AB just 20 minutes north of Calgary, this venue features a 1 mile long and 100 feet wide runway plus an approach and apron, allowing a wide range of course design features.
Overnight camping onsite will be permitted, and we will have porta potties and water available. We will also be hosting an informal get together and awards ceremony, stay tuned for more details on that.
If anyone has any questions please don't hesitate to reply here or message me directly.
MSREG sign up link will be available shortly.
