Title: Plans for 2015
Post by: MurrayPeterson on January 03, 2015, 11:43:05 AM
My plans so far:

S2000 (AP1) in BS
Use up current ZII rubber and replace with ZII Star Specs
Try at least one Pro-Solo (probably Packwood)
Attend at least one event in Montana
Canadian Nationals (Fort Macleod)
U.S. Nationals (Lincoln) (Jo and I already have seats reserved)

Test drive a Fiesta ST (and race one if someone is willing).  If we like it (and fit in the seats), we might buy one and compete in HS for something different.

Waiting for the new Miata to arrive; looks like it might be a good replacement for our S2000 when it finally wears out.  Jo and I *like* convertibles :)

My plans are a bit more local than Murray, probably limited to highway 2.

1996 Spec Miata in DSP
Try to get in as many CSCC and SASC events as I can
Try Ice Dice in a car that is far too stiffly sprung
Run the old Hoosier SM7's that came with the car (13 of them) till they are done and then evaluate whether or not to run different tires for autocross
Try out road racing and see how it goes
Use the truck for some CSCC TSD rallies, they seem like fun
Get some time out at Badlands ASAP

The yard work will have to wait this year...

Tour & Pro   Crows Landing
Monkey Butt Tour on 'Black Betty', my R1200S;  that's 5 - 6 weeks finding the best m/c roads throughout the lower 48
Match Tour  Utah (TBD)
Tour & Pro   Packwood
Canadian Nationals
NHA 'Bogus Basin Hillclimb' Boise, ID
Montana events, Helena & Great Falls (if they score Malmstrom AFB again)
Local events, as many as I can fit in

My current "plan" (more like a lofty idea really) is to compete in at least 3 western Canadian rally events and the entire ice dice series put on by the CSCC. I'm also in the initial stages of buying a home, something in a small townhouse with an attached garage. Unfortunately I'll most likely concede my rally plans in favour of having my own place.

My plans for the upcoming year:

- Complete 90 Honda Civic Si Street Touring build for 2015 Season (Co-building with another driver)
- Ice-Dice with the 09 STi this winter
- CSCC/SASC Auto-X this year with the Civic
- Canadian Nationals in August
- Consider other regional events or US events depending on schedule and co-driver

Better prepare the Corvette to SSP:

- Hyperco front spring
- An even stiffer front sway bar
- Better brake pads
- Adjustable end links
- Corner balance and a more agressive alignment
- And perhaps some wider wheels and Hoosier A6's instead of the garbage Conti Slicks I ran last year

Hopefully make it out to a couple ice dice events, another SoloPro school and a couple more track days than last year.

Carbotech XP10 pads for the BRZ
Finish up my Z2s and decide what to do for wheels/tires for both auto x and lapping this year
Make some new rear LCAs that don't have the possibility of slipping under heavy load
Make a master cylinder brace
Pay the rest of the car off before going much further with mods
Compete in as many CSCC/SASC auto x events as possible
Canadian Nationals

Replace thermostat and PCV in the Honda
Replace leaking valve cover gasket in the Honda
Buy some summer tires for the Honda

I'm sure everything will completely change from my actual plans though...

Murray I got to drive one this past weekend at Ghost lake, you will not be dissapointed, minus the open diff.  Seats are small, but even my fat butt fit comfortably in both driver/passenger seats.  I might see if i can snag a "written off" one in a few years for auto-x.  It has great balance and awesome tossability, just needs an LSD ;)

Did you go with the T1R front calipers?  Or just change the pads all around?

That guy with the T1R Calipers never got back to me and vendors weren't giving me the info I needed for pad fitment so I gave up on those.

Just pads for the stock calipers, gonna sell my Stop Tech pads.  Lines and fluid as well, then if I need more ill do the APR ducts and backing plates.
