Touchstone Insurance (broker) was friendly

This is who I go through as well.

Last year when I insured one of my cars I just outright told my broker I bought it to take to lapping days and autoslalom and he made specific notes of that on the policy for me so they couldn’t come back and say they knew nothing about it.

Looking for a C5 Corvette. I’m willing to consider Z06 and non Z06 models but nothing that’s a soft top convertible or an automatic. The top end of my budget is $22k but I’d be willing to spend a little more if I find the right car. Does not need to have any racing prep or modifications.

Damn if they dump the STi, Golf R and Focus RS into DS with my WRX I won’t be very happy.

Understanding weight transfer and how it can make your car handle the way it does (and how you can use it to your advantage) was probably one of the biggest benefits to my driving.

Super fun day of racing, can't wait for next year!
I hope the winter off doesn't erode what experience I feel I've gained this summer... I'll just need to put in a lot of seat time at Speeders. ;)

Come out to the lake for ice dice or winter drivers training and keep your skills in check!

Thanks for the great day, my tires are finally ready to be removed and the winters installed  :o

From what I've read so far, I believe my Golf will fall into STH since its a turbo hot hatch.
My understanding is this class is being introduced since aftermarket tunes aren't available without increasing the boost levels & this class would allow you to run a tune with higher boost, but not allow the many of the other mods which will throw you into SM

so more torque steer with the same lvl of grip, sounds like fun ;D

The R doesn’t really have torque steer with the new Haldex.

Hankook with a 3.5mm and learn how to change tyres really quickly in -40 degrees.  On Hakka 8's we were typically 60-70 seconds behind Piotr on a 4.5km track.  ON the 3.5mm studs we moved to within 20 seconds by the last event.   FWD Studded ended up being a pretty hotly contested class/

I got for a very soft setting at the front and a hard setting in the rear, I also run lower psi at the front (16-18psi) and 22 psi in the rear all intended to induce oversteer.  It seemed to work pretty good.

I was running 12psi front and 10psi rear on my car.

Yours was a very different car, but maybe i'll go lower this year.  the SASC even we were running 16 back 14 front and we were quick that day too.  I'm gonna pump up your tires before every event though James, better be keeping an eye out!

Ok but make sure you pump them up a lot because I want to see what difference something like 50psi makes.

Hakkas are no where near a cheap Chinese tire with 3.5mm studs. I ran Westlake SW606 last year with 3.5mm studs and they were fast.

I got called to work so I may or may not make it for setup this afternoon. I’m not even signed up to race tomorrow either  :-[
