SASC Events / 2019 Novice Prize
« on: August 07, 2019, 08:44:11 AM »
I had emailed this out to our novices earlier, but figured I should cement it with a post here. Thanks to Overtime Rentals, we have devised a participation prize for newcomers in 2019 - be sure to let your friends know (especially if they have only come to 1 or 2 events this year).

************

As we are nearing the half way mark of the SASC autocross season, I wanted to remind the newcomers and novices of two things - the Rookie awards (for our fastest newcomers) and the participation prize (eligible to all qualified newcomers).

Rookie Awards: The club awards trophies to the fastest three rookies (as determined by the rules outlined here http://forums.sascsolo.com/index.php?topic=1327.0), with the overall winner also receiving a club jacket embroidered with their rookie of the year achievement.

Participation Prize: This year we are also looking to reward our newcomers through a raffle style prize where someone will win the following prizes, courtesy of our sponsor, Overtime Rentals:

$50 gas card
Free membership for 2020
$100 event credit for 2020

To qualify for the raffle prize, you must attend three (3) events in the 2019 season, with additional events awarding some extra tickets as follows:

3 Events - 1 Ticket
4 Events - 2 Tickets
5 Events - 3 Tickets

The draw will occur at the year-end Annual General Meeting.

General Discussion / Forgot tire gauge in Fort Macleod
« on: June 14, 2019, 08:28:17 PM »
I think I left a Joe's Racing tire pressure gauge in grid (or just  on the side of it) at the last event. Anybody happen to pick it up?

Ugh, this is a really good price. Parts and labor for an SSC build are fairly significant, ignoring the great extras that Quentin has thrown in.

Thought that it was on purpose that the day was supposed to be scored as afternoon only since there were no course changes?

Other Events / Re: WCMA AGM In Leduc ... free to register
« on: October 01, 2018, 10:56:05 AM »
Hey Reijo,

I'm curious about the impact of this. It seems the WCMA doesn't really do much for solo right now - the regional challenge this year seemed to have very little information and impact for its competitors. Does the solo workshop at the AGM plan on discussing how to make WCMA relevant again in solo?

In terms of rule changes, since we seem to follow SCCA rules for competitive purposes, what type of rule changes could the WCMA impose on us? Is it more related to the safety/insurance/noise stuff?

Thanks!
