Sorry about the screw up with timing in the morning.  A mis-configured device driver was not talking correctly to the new computer.  I did get it fixed over lunch, so all should be fine tomorrow.  Back to http://192.168.1.2, hopefully forever now.

Technical Talk / Instructions for future use of live scoring
« on: July 01, 2020, 01:27:38 PM »
In the future (starting Saturday), we will no longer support the use of "scores.com" as the website to visit when getting live scores.  It has been troublesome, with phones wanting to access the internet instead of going to the local, connected domain (scores).

From now on, the instructions are as follows:
1. Connect to the local wifi domain called "scores".
2. Open an incognito browser window and browse to this address: http://192.168.1.2
Note that the http:// part of the address is important-- you don't want Google search to kick in.
3. For ease of use, enter that address in your phone's browser and bookmark it for future use.

I will have a sheet of paper posted on the side of the timing vehicle with these instructions on Saturday.

SASC Events / Re: Scores for June 27, 2020 event at Fort Macleod

The astute may have noticed that there was a major screw-up in yesterday's scoring.  The timing computer was still using last year's PAX values.

The scores have been updated with the correct (I hope) PAX values.
I have also added the new group (CAM-XS) and assigned the CAM-* cars to that group instead of STOUR.

Please send me a PM for any other corrections.

Lovely weather, lovely course, zero timing issues, zero equipment hit/broken -- we can't ask for much more.

I did drive like an old man today, so I guess it wasn't all roses :)

It is very accurate; with the custom calibration file, its accuracy is advertised as 18-20,000 Hz, ± 0.5 dB

It's not a Bruel&Kjaer lab instrument, but it is certainly good enough for tweaking a car or home audio system.

Just copy this file over top if the existing one in c:\mjtiming\config

When Jo and I drove our S2000 across Canada (and back), one thing that I discovered is that 200 TW tires are just fine in terms of wear rate on the highway.  We got 100+ autox events and 10,000 km from a set of RE-71Rs.  Ever since then, I just leave the RE-71Rs on the car.

BTW, RE-71Rs suck on the highway when it is raining and the asphalt has not been seal-coated with aggregate.

Looks like some co-drivers weren't good about changing their numbers -- I'll fix it if you let me know what goes where.

A huge thanks to Stephen and Patrick for letting Jo and I drive their cars!

Technical Talk / Re: Question for the rule gods.

i can't seem to find fuel regulations.

A big thing to remember about the SSCA rule book is this:  if they don't say anything about a modification, then you aren't allowed to make that mod.

    - Removed d1 and d2 designators for Set1 and Set2 scores

- Only a single BAT file created that creates both text and html scores
- Open explorer window to event data folder when "Create Scores" button is pressed
- Team name (or number) now saved to CSVdata.csv file
