For those that didn't know what happened, our Miata blew its tranny yesterday during my second run.  Our AMA card got us a free tow to the Mazda dealership, and we are now waiting for the dealership to do their diagnoses.  The car is under warranty, but Mazda Canada has made a statement that they won't cover drive trains if the car is auto-crossed. :(  I'll let you know if this is true or not...

Fun course, but really hard on a Miata's transmission :)

I'll fix that on Sunday evening when I have the data for both events.

I can only assume that you forgot the smiley face or you don't live around here.  We got 29 cm of snow that day.

Interesting and challenging course today.  To get better times, you had to increase your risk of hitting cones.  So, the cone counts were very high, with some drivers having no clean runs for the entire day.

Single best run, since there were no course changes and the weather was a bit variable:

Thanks to Stephen for letting me drive his car; lots of fun, although I obviously need more practise in cars that actually have some power :)

Technical Talk / Re: MJTiming discussion and releases

I have created a Facebook group called MJTiming to enable easier access to my software as well as easier conversations.  Just seach for "MJTiming" on Facebook.

How difficult logistically was it to have grid on the runway instead of on the pad?

Remember to have the porta-potties placed down at the pit+grid area :)  Outside of that, it seemed pretty normal.

The lack of overlap is the biggest issue:
1. Plan on shorter courses than you usually do
2. Plan on this design only for events with low attendance (perhaps have 2 designs on hand and flip depending on attendance)

Curious about something
I have attended 6 of the 8 events yet my overall rookie score only shows 4 events🤔

Couple of things are possible:
1. You didn't ensure that you were marked as rookie for those 2 events
2. You registered under a different name (and or spelling) for those 2 events.

Send me a PM and tell me which it is (and your real name), and I will fix.

Fun day today, with some serious battles happening.

I loved the course; lots of offsets that rewarded aggression, but only if you could keep your runs clean (which was tough to do).

No room at all for more timing gear (I have the computer, the router and the control box).

However, if you want to drive the Miata, it's good in the rain and probably has enough rubber for 3 drivers on Saturday.
