Description: I have decided to put up my 2009 Subaru Impreza WRX STi up for sale.  The car has been a blast because this was my dream car for some time, and I am happy to have owned it for the time I have.

I am the original owner of the vehicle and have all service records for the vehicle in a file 2" thick.  I have every receipt for every single modification on the car, and the original bill of sale.  The records can be included with the sale, after I have had a chance to run through it and take out personal information.  When I moved from Ontario in 2011 the car had 30,000km on it, it currently has 48,XXXkm on it and that does not increase quickly as I don't DD the car.

The car has been parted out.  Below is a list of the modifications which will remain with the car.

I have a carproof report for those that are interested.  Kijiji ad is here: http://www.kijiji.ca/v-view-details.html?adId=1065876708&paidedited=true&posted=true&featuredAdActivated=true&gaVirtualPageType=OrderSuccess&paymentMethod=CREDITCARD&invoice=ef1b61ff-e561-4d37-bedc-bcd4a2feafce&purchaseSuccess=true

The Good:
Low Kilometre
Clean title, no accidents
Strong engine, compression test and leakdown prior to pro-tune
Opti-coat applied last year, interior in fantastic condiiton

The Bad:

Will need a front brake job later this year or early next year
That's it really

The car has never seen a race track, but I did use it for 7 autocross events last season, and 4 ice racing events this season, which is why it needs a brake job at this point.  The car has been driven spiritedly otherwise.  This is a listing of what is on the car currently, I have noted what is not included and will be removed with the car.

Will small children be allowed at the banquet? I will have my wife and 18 month old son with me.  Just want to make sure he is able to attend the banquet as well.  I would also assume I would not pay for him as well, because he will not eat anything, other than what we give him.

Jinx Jordan did that to me at one of my first schools; hovered his hand on the gear shift, and told me that we would have "an awkward moment" if I reached for the shifter :)  Worked very well at stopping me from shifting inappropriately, but it didn't cure me of holding on too long after a shift.  I'll get Jo to help there, although it won't be quite so awkward :)

Yes, exactly.  It is not that you rest on the shifter it is that you seem to hold your shift for 5-10 seconds.  It is a street driving habit in that you expect to shift again momentarily.

Interesting, makes me want to put my camera in the car watching me drive looking for bad habits.

And therein lies a big problem.  At the school, Ilearned that the biggest thing holding me back is my level of focus.  If I pull attention away from the upcoming course elements, I am going to get slower :(

Sounds like you need to increase your focus and neural plasticity  ;)... whatever that is:

Yeah.  Not sure how to fix this, since the behaviour is entirely unconcious.  I'll have to do something to bring it forward into my concious mind.

Same as an other unconscious though, you need to practice the conscious thought of hands on the steering wheel.  On top of every other thought in your head.  You say it to yourself over and over again until your hands do what you want them to do.

Basically, I practice repeating stuff in my own mind.  It's like a rapid mental check list, gas, shift, steering wheel, brake, turn etc.   At least that is how I think about it.  Like any bad habit you want to correct it seems to take more of your focus.

Wow Murray that's a lot of shifting!  The course seemed to slow down quite a bit.  I see what you mean about holding the shifter, it also causes you to misplace your other hand on the steering wheel to control the car.

I think I am just as guilty of letting go of the steering wheel then, you did not seem too bad about it.

Reijo, you may have mentioned this before, but any thoughts to how many runs we may see on the intro day?  I believe you mentioned it could be as high as half a season's worth of runs, which would equate to 30-40 runs that day?

I have a co-driver and we split costs on everything, so I am trying to understand how much tire wear I am going to do that day just in case we need new rubber before the end of the season.

The only error I saw was my failure to use the brake pedal without locking up  :P

Yeah, that was a big one on your last run.

Technical Talk / Re: ASP or STU?
« on: April 18, 2015, 12:24:14 AM »
So, basically, the only thing that puts you into ASP is your engine tune not using stock boost tables.  Just get another map, through a pro-tuner or however, and make sure it uses stock boost tables and go back to STU.
