Title: Scores for April 29/30 events at Fort MAcleod
Post by: MurrayPeterson on April 30, 2017, 07:26:45 PM

Sunday championship scores: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0ByeFbiNdvLbGbkNMNUNFWXVNZEU

Sunday was quite exciting.  Multiple people help the lead during the day (Tom G, Richard B, Stephen H), but Cam ignored his cone penalties and drove home for the win.  Congrats to Cam (and everyone else) for some really nice driving!

I also have to give special mention to James C, in an EP Civic that still managed 10th place in PAX.  Impressive!

Thanks everyone.

Great day, still learning lots about the car and different lines.  Must hit less cones.

Thanks again for getting the scores up so quickly, Murray!

Yes, it was a great day ... and a challenging course I thought (my opinion fwiw) ... tough to get it right.

Got my car home - thanks Bill!  He drove it all the way to NW Calgary and I found my spare key in my packsack ... from skiing about a week ago.  All is good!  Also thanks to all the other helpers getting my car onto Bill's trailer etc. .... great team work!

Also, thanks to Tom for letting me use his Corvette ... which as it turns out is the same class of car as my S2000.

And, of course, to all the volunteers and helpers throughout the day and especially for setup help!  These people and the help they freely give make these events happen and succeed!   Cheers everyone!

Glad you made it home Reijo. Maybe time to fix wire or let me put a new one in for you.lol.

Great weekend.  Glad to see so many new faces and new cars. Devious courses are always more fun.

I notice I am being flagged as not a member on the score sheet. Anything to worry about?

Also, for those who felt  like today was a good day to hunt cones... apparently Optimum Power Clean destroys the rubber left by the pylons. Not a mark after crushing 8 of those today.

Nope.  I only look at membership status at the end of the year when figuring out the championship awards.

I had the car nano-coated by SR International.  Cone rubber just wiped off with the micro-fiber towel when I was drying the car.

Yeah that is usually the case for me as well (I have Opticoat all over the car). Took a little more effort this time around though, must have really had it out for those stupid triangles this go around.

Do you mind me asking how much that cost you to have it applied?

The price varies by car and age, so my price won't be yours.  I will say that it isn't cheap, since it includes a full detail and polishing.  Ask them for a quote.  Good people!

Will do, arg, more money spent in places I wasn't planning lol but sounds like its worth it.

Keep in mind that it typical takes one person 8-12 hours to do a car depending on size and condition of car.

They obviously have a couple people per car but you can figure out how much this type of service runs

Mine is booked with Rainer for next Tuesday, marks came off the paintwork OK with RRR but much more difficult on the OEM protection in front of the rear wheel wells. P.

Paul, what you can do for the rear wheel wells is put on some painter's tape to protect the finish .... or stop hitting cones?   hahahaha

I should add that it is easier if you driver slower.  (fat chance of that, eh? hahahaha)

Yes Reijo I thought about that after I posted. At the schools you,Tim and Jeff have all told me you are not supposed to hit cones. I think I have a condition,
hopefully it can be cured but in the mean time I AM the CONE KING. All cleaned up now, ready for 3 days in Nisku.P

hahaha......   Well, maybe we should balance this out a bit .... Take a look at the no. of cones hits and who is near the top of the list .... quite a few good drivers.  In my opinion you are certain to hit some cones if you are trying to be as close as possible to key cones.  If you don't hit any cones, then I would say you are not trying hard enough!    :)
