I've had a couple questions on whether you can enter only one day. Usually we have had that option on 2-day events and that is true for this event as well.
Anyways, I changed/added some verbage to indicate that you can enter the days as separate days or separately if you like.
Hopefully that makes it more clear.
Oh, and by the way, Ryan Clark is designing the Saturday course and it is looking good and Quentin Osborne is doing the Sunday course - thanks for stepping up guys! Always nice to see some variety and interpretation of what a good solo course is!

Looks like I'm probably free on the Friday afternoon if you'll need volunteers for setup again, not sure we'll be coming out for either of the days yet.

Is there a cap on registration for this event?
We're still working some bugs out on the car, but it should be ready by that weekend. Would we be able to pre-register and cancel in the event that the car is not ready?

We don't have a cap per se and are expecting a fairly large no. (my guesstimate 120) ... With the way we are running events currently we should have no problem with that number ... just have to keep sending out cars quickly.
Register ... and if in the last 24 hrs+ you find you can't finish the car, let us know and we can either give you a credit or a refund. Or better yet, just wait until the last minute ... see if you get it done.
There are 31(quite a few from out of Calgary) entered right now ... even I haven't entered yet. But we have an event in Red Deer this coming weekend and I suspect after that there will be an influx of entries.....or perhaps even later this week it should be picking up.

on a side note... Reijo, do I not appear as a member of the SASC in motorsport reg? I seem to appear as a non-member in all the scoring output after each event.

When you check in for an event, be sure that your info is correct (membership, rookie status, etc.). The MSR reports do not always get these items correct.

Drat, I really wanted to run my Mazda at this event but I just noticed the no passengers rule so perhaps I am better off going to Red Deer this coming weekend instead. I suppose a practice at Red Deer would be beneficial to knock off some of the rust and dust in my performance as a driver since I have not been running for several years.

Budget won't allow for both, and I want some more experienced drivers in my passenger seat for a couple runs to critique my driving and suggesting ways to improve. Next year my goal is to compete for a full season, this year I will probably only make 3 events. Enough to assess where my weak points are and set myself up for solopro schooling next year when I have better tires.

Ok so given that the SUnday is Fr's day I should probably only do Sat now that it's an option. What's the best way for a guy to change it? Cancel and re-enter?

The MSR registration page is being weird for me... It lists my focus as #11 in the top drop-down but then assigns me the number 111 and when I try to open the dropdown to fix it I just get a blank white box.

Looks like your number wasn't reserved in MSR, and someone else got to it before you did.
I guess you will have to add another piece of tape on each side :)

My tape budget just went up by 50%!! Unacceptable!

But seriously, it's no problem at all. I was just confused because the top drop-down had my number as if it were reserved but then it assigned me 111 and was just drawing a big white rectangle instead of letting me pick a new number so I couldn't see what had happened. I figured MSR was just being broken or something.

I heard through the grapeline that somewhere on FB it was mentioned that only the morning runs count for the WCMA Championship.
That is NOT correct.
We will be running one course in the morning and then another course in the afternoon (morning course in the reverse direction plus some minorish changes).
Therefore each day is counted as two separate events and your time will be determined from the best morning run added to the best afternoon run. This is the case on Saturday and then again on Sunday. In effect you will be running 4 events this weekend! How fun, eh? :)
Putting it another way, 2 courses in one day and your best run from each determines your placing.

BTW, that is exactly how the Cdn. Nats in Pitt Meadows will be run the following weekend.

With the head count looking to be under 100, I think/hope we can get in 8 runs each per day.

Father's Day was mentioned in a few emails I saw ... another unfortunate timing issue in this year's event schedule ... and the Pitt Meadows schedule I guess.
Also I wonder if some people are staying away because it is a more competitive regional event? Really, everyone should feel more than welcome to participate whether they are newcomers or not.
In fact that is one of the beauties of autox, that you can participate in a nationanl-level event without experience. What sport can you do that in? I would say not many.
So, in my opinion, newcomers should absolutely take advantage of that fact and jump right in there because they can! Who cares about the results. Use it as an event to learn from and that is certainly a major value of going to a "bigger", more competitive event - re: That you can learn some things about this sport that you cannot necessarily learn just running local events.
So jump in there folks! No special experience or skill is required! It will be a great experience.

We have 6 drivers coming in from Winnipeg, I can assure you we don't bite, we are not super serious competitors just a bunch of Winnipeg guys who enjoy autocross and having fun with cars. Hope to meet and learn from the SASC/CSCC.
Favour to ask, one of our drivers just got his S2000 aligned and ride height adjusted this week but suspects the shop incorrectly lowered the front coilovers and might run into clearance issues on course. If anyone could bring universal coilover spanners it would be greatly appreciated.

If I decided last minute to attend and compete tomorrow plus Sunday is it $120 for non members for just the one day? Or does that $120 cover both days?

Actually I will change the closing time and date to Saturday night so people can register for Sunday up until that time.
