As for the classing, I say build it and figure it out later.

As long as it can run somewhere!  Would definitely be wonderful to see.

Hey everyone,

We have 6 drivers coming in from Winnipeg, I can assure you we don't bite, we are not super serious competitors just a bunch of Winnipeg guys who enjoy autocross and having fun with cars. Hope to meet and learn from the SASC/CSCC.

Favour to ask, one of our drivers just got his S2000 aligned and ride height adjusted this week but suspects the shop incorrectly lowered the front coilovers and might run into clearance issues on course. If anyone could bring universal coilover spanners it would be greatly appreciated.

Chris Magne

I'll throw one in my box - #93 FRS.

Technical Talk / Re: Nexen Tire contingency

I sent an email off to Nexen to ask a few questions,
I guess not cooling them down proper, 2 drivers and short cool down times, and pushing to the limit for what we drive I'm sure is the culprits but hey its not exactly F1 prepped track we drive on lol

I am curious to the G's and if they will stand up a little better.

For the money I put into this sport and the laughs, fun, smiles and watching greg on my heels I dont mind the price!!
Wow.  This was on the burgundy coloured hatchback? Three autox events in?  Doesn't seem acceptable to me.

Another article by Vivek:

I really like this one, since it describes my biggest flaw these days (smooth, but insufficiently aggressive).

I'm not sure that is your biggest flaw.   ;D

The post is really really good though.

Automotive Marketplace / FS: Street Class FRS or BRZ Wheels & Tires
« on: April 04, 2017, 03:16:27 PM »

I've changed wheel size, so would like to make space in the garage by selling my auto-x wheels from last year.

Set of four...

Motegi Traklite
17 7J +45
5H PCD100 with 73mm hub bore, although I have Subaru 56.1mm hubcentric spacers fit.
Wheels are in great shape and were only put on the car for events.  No rash or bends... practically as new condition.

Tires are 225/45 Bridgestone RE-71R with about 7 events on them.  They were flipped on the wheels at the end of last year, so they should have more than a few events left in them.  Stored over winter indoors.

$1200 obo.
PM please.

My Dad mentioned to me that he's had a few recent inquiries on magnets.

There are a variety of options out there, but for those interested in comparing pricing, for 2017 he can do a pair of two digit numbers (8") and class lettering (4") for...
  • $45 - single colour gloss
  • $60 - single colour flourescent

Custom multi-colour, or upsizing is available at additional cost. Payment by visa or master card.

An SASC membership will cover you on both fronts... or visa-versa.

A little note on said car:

Seems a bit scary as a Twin driver.

I don't think there are any real regulations in that regard... at least not in the same way as solo 2.

I'm not familiar with the Match Tour format, but of note to me is that DS beat every street class except for A.

Announcements / Server Maintenance

Hi all.

The recent forum down time was caused by some unexpected problems with the server/host. Thanks for your patience.  Hopefully everything is back up and running as it should now.  If not I will be working to resolve.

General Discussion / Re: Who's switching cars next year?

Jo and I plan on putting in an order for a MX-5 in January (the 2017 models have a fix for the fragile transmission).

Hopefuly, someone will want to switch to an S2000 :)

Well yeah! I'm not planning on switching cars or classes.  Bring it on?  :o

Q's old man also supplies the club members with magnetic numbers.

Edit: E6Cueman's old man

It's true.  There are DIY methods, but if someone is looking for a finished product they can contact him at 403-547-0035.

He has a vinyl/magnet cutter and can do printed graphics, so can simply cut numbers, or print something custom if you like.

I wonder how many people will be removing their TRD springs from their FRS?  Seems like a pretty good place for the FRS.

I'm sad, but the split is not unexpected. I don't plan on going "backwards", but the serious folk south of the border are already swapping parts.

I think the Ecoboost Mustang should be a strong contender in D... and I think the WRX will continue to be as well.
