Automotive Marketplace / FS: Various Tires
« on: July 27, 2023, 08:50:55 AM »
Hey everyone, I am sitting on a lot of tires in various states of wear and age. These tires were all stored in heated storage and are now in my heated garage. These are not the fastest tires out there but they will get you through the rest of the season for cheap or are a good set of practice tires.

These were previously Stephen's tires and were used on his E92 M3, they are also similarly sized for C5 corvettes.

2 x 2 year old 275 Goodyear SC3s with 4.5/32" remaining - $100 for both
2 x 2 year old 285 RE-71Rs with 5/32" remaining - $100 for both
4 x 3-season-old 275 RE-71Rs with 3/32" remaining - $100 for all 4

Package deal $200 for all of the tires. I will post more details when I am in front of the tires again.

All stock parts will come with the sale along with the stock wheels along with a California Noah Car Cover.

Current modifications include:
- Hellwig 1-5/16" Front Sway Bar

- Fikse FM5 Wheels (Have stock wheels as well)
- Kenwood DNX996XR Double Din Stereo (Still have stock stereo)
- Kenwood front and rear facing cameras
- Kenwood Dash Cam
- Curt Hitch with Corvette Covette, complete with wiring harness

Brakes were replaced in 2021 with GM blank rotors and Carbotech XP10 pads all around.

Car was also polished and ceramic coated in 2021.

The club's web page (https://web.sascsolo.com/event-results/) contains an outdated Google Drive link to the archived event results.  Could you please get this updated to the new format to prevent me getting email requests from Google:

SASC Events / Re: COVID-19 Impact on 2021 Season
« on: May 27, 2021, 08:30:01 AM »
With the province's accelerated reopen schedule and rejigged (much more generous) guidelines for when to proceed to each stage of the reopening, I'm guessing that it can't be more than late June that we could have events.

Stage 2, which could be by June 15, allows outdoor events of up to 150 people. And if we're being realistic, Stage 2 is going to be by June 15, in order for Stage 3 to kick in ahead of Stampede, which is pretty clearly what's driving the reopen schedule now. Whether or not you think that's sound public health policy, that seems good news for us running events soon - and lest that sound negative, I think it's pretty safe for us, being mostly widely scattered outside all day. So as long as we're playing by the AHS/AB gov't rules, I'm happy to move ahead :)

Yes, I think by the most recent schedule the first event would be June 26/27 after June 15. Which works out timing wise cause you will know at least a week before those events what the rules are and can get the registration up.

Hopefully things go smoothly over the next few weeks.

Based on feedback, and the concerns around the growing number of Covid-19 cases in Alberta we have decided to move back to an online AGM. We still ask that you register online through MSReg so we can confirm those that are coming.

The link to the online meeting will be issued to those that are registered on MSreg only.

Member Discussion (Private) / 2021 Steward Positions
« on: October 19, 2020, 10:40:01 AM »
Well, there was no where to speak about the nomination or appointment of Steward Positions for the 2021 season.

We currently have 6 positions, they are listed below. I don't believe that I currently have a description for each, so I will attempt to do that here.

Tech Steward
Responsible for both helmet and vehicle tech. Ensuring we have tech stickers and coordinating tech inspections on-site at events (when we are doing vehicle techs)

Safety / Sound Steward
This combined position is to act as the safety representative on-site (or delegating it when not on-site) and making decisions around course designs and event operations relating to safety issue. Also responsible for maintaining the sound equipment, ensuring there are batteries, and sound logs are recorded properly. Can also act in a training capacity for those that run sound.

Equipment Steward
I am largely unsure of this position as we have not had it filled for a few years now.

Novice Steward
Responsible for communicating and helping Novice's before, during and after events. This could include pre-emptive communications prior to events in coordination with the Secretary. Helping during the event by leading a course walk coordinating ride alongs or instructor runs. Then even following up after the event. The possibilities in this position are endless and this is about helping novice's learn the sport and encourage them to participate in the future by having a welcoming environment.

Grid / Workers Steward
Responsible for coordinating work assignments prior to an event. Once early registration is closed this steward then sorts out worker positions and emails the participants with their assignments. They can assist on-site on the day off to handle any different work assignments that need to be given. They work closely with the Event Steward and course designer in completing this assignment.

Registration / Waivers Steward
Responsible for coordinating on-site registration, while maybe not specifically running it themselves. Ensuring that we are filing all appropriate waivers and other files.

If you are interested in any of these roles maybe make a note here, or keep this in mind for the AGM.

Thank you

Member Discussion (Private) / Re: Nominations for 2021 President
« on: October 19, 2020, 10:18:54 AM »
I would like to nominate Jared Coulson for the position of President.

Jared has been an active SASC member for several years. Over the years he has made many positive contributions to the club. Both through his role as Novice Steward, where he engaged new members better than any time we have in the past and in his regular participation. He has had several positive suggestions on how we could improve club operations, up the number of attendees at our events and how we could make our events more interesting.

I think Jared would do well in this position and would be a very good representative of the club. While this is true, it will be important that there is the support of other executives and steward positions in the coming year to help with the running of events.

I would like to nominate John Hrycyk for the secretary position. John is a regular attendee at our events and is a very nice guy. While not previously involved with some support he should be more than capable to run the Secretary position.

The SASC AGM will be held on Saturday, November 21th, 1:00pm

Location: Online

Registration http://msreg.com/sasc2020agm

With 90 club members this year, we require a minimum 20% representation at the AGM per club bylaws. Your attendance is very much appreciated and helps shape the club for the future. We are limited to 50 attendees at the venue, and we will be arranged in audience format following all current AHS guidelines.

There are many important topics to discuss and vote on and the AGM is the venue to accomplish this.

The agenda will be as follows:

1:00-1:10pm - Welcome
1:10-1:25pm - Presidents Report (Adam)
1:25-1:40pm - Solo 2 Report(Richard)
1:40-1:55pm - Financial Statement (Stephen)
1:55-2:15pm - Election of Executives & Appointment of Volunteer Positions (Adam)
2:15-2:35pm - 2021 Solo Schedule and Budget (Richard and Adam)

If you cannot attend, please complete a Proxy Form to nominate a member to vote on your behalf. They will available within the MSreg event details. Please fill out this document and return it to the SASC Secretary.

I would also like to encourage others to get involved with the club in either an executive capacity or steward capacity. The official positions are as follows:

President (executive)
Solo 2 Director (executive)
Treasurer (executive)
Secretary (executive)

Tech Steward
Safety / Sound Steward
Equipment Steward
Novice Steward
Grid / Workers Steward
Registration / Waivers Steward

There are also other folks who don’t hold an official position but are instrumental to the success of this club so getting involved is easy if you’re looking to do so in a more informal way.

More information can be found in the members section of the forum.

Thank you,
Your SASC Executive Team

Member Discussion (Private) / Re: 2021 Executive Positions
« on: October 01, 2020, 01:56:46 PM »
We have recently started to host our meetings virtually, which can continue to happen if the 2021 executive prefers it this way. I understand attending an on-site meeting on a monthly basis was a barrier to some people that may have wanted to volunteer in the past.

Also, we have started to build up a larger degree of institutional knowledge, both with past and current executive, as well as our existing membership. This should allow for the load to be spread across a few members to help with the running of events. We also have a process manual that covers most of event and club operations, which is added to regularly to make both this transition and future transitions smoother, as well as helping to continue to build this knowledge in our club.

From my perspective, I still plan on attending most meetings, and taking on a steward role for next year, while also acting as event steward for a few events as well.

This is a volunteer run club. We need to continue to have people to act as regular volunteers to keep things running. The executive is particularly important in maintain directors for our not-for-profit society status with the province so we can continue to file financial records with them annually. While that's a basic requirement of the operation of this club we also need our executive to continue looking into the future to determine how we can continue to operate well into the future, and potentially improve, or grow for that matter.
