Automotive Marketplace / FS: Various Tires
« on: July 27, 2023, 08:50:55 AM »
Hey everyone, I am sitting on a lot of tires in various states of wear and age. These tires were all stored in heated storage and are now in my heated garage. These are not the fastest tires out there but they will get you through the rest of the season for cheap or are a good set of practice tires.

These were previously Stephen's tires and were used on his E92 M3, they are also similarly sized for C5 corvettes.

2 x 2 year old 275 Goodyear SC3s with 4.5/32" remaining - $100 for both
2 x 2 year old 285 RE-71Rs with 5/32" remaining - $100 for both
4 x 3-season-old 275 RE-71Rs with 3/32" remaining - $100 for all 4

Package deal $200 for all of the tires. I will post more details when I am in front of the tires again.

Member Discussion (Private) / 2021 Steward Positions
« on: October 19, 2020, 10:40:01 AM »
Well, there was no where to speak about the nomination or appointment of Steward Positions for the 2021 season.

We currently have 6 positions, they are listed below. I don't believe that I currently have a description for each, so I will attempt to do that here.

Tech Steward
Responsible for both helmet and vehicle tech. Ensuring we have tech stickers and coordinating tech inspections on-site at events (when we are doing vehicle techs)

Safety / Sound Steward
This combined position is to act as the safety representative on-site (or delegating it when not on-site) and making decisions around course designs and event operations relating to safety issue. Also responsible for maintaining the sound equipment, ensuring there are batteries, and sound logs are recorded properly. Can also act in a training capacity for those that run sound.

Equipment Steward
I am largely unsure of this position as we have not had it filled for a few years now.

Novice Steward
Responsible for communicating and helping Novice's before, during and after events. This could include pre-emptive communications prior to events in coordination with the Secretary. Helping during the event by leading a course walk coordinating ride alongs or instructor runs. Then even following up after the event. The possibilities in this position are endless and this is about helping novice's learn the sport and encourage them to participate in the future by having a welcoming environment.

Grid / Workers Steward
Responsible for coordinating work assignments prior to an event. Once early registration is closed this steward then sorts out worker positions and emails the participants with their assignments. They can assist on-site on the day off to handle any different work assignments that need to be given. They work closely with the Event Steward and course designer in completing this assignment.

Registration / Waivers Steward
Responsible for coordinating on-site registration, while maybe not specifically running it themselves. Ensuring that we are filing all appropriate waivers and other files.

If you are interested in any of these roles maybe make a note here, or keep this in mind for the AGM.

Thank you

Member Discussion (Private) / 2020 AGM Date
« on: September 09, 2020, 03:17:29 PM »
Due to current Covid-19 Restrictions we will be holding our 2020 AGM electronically over Microsoft Teams. Details are being sorted on this and will be released in October.

Since we are choosing to hold it electronically this year it gives us nearly limitless flexibility on when to hold this. The two dates we are considering are Saturday, November 21 and Saturday, November 28. We expect to hold it early afternoon and it would last for a few hours.

If you have a preference on which date you would want to see please vote, if not, then there is no need. This poll will be open till the end of September.

Thanks!

Member Discussion (Private) / 2021 Executive Positions and Beyond
« on: July 15, 2020, 09:48:29 PM »
The club wanted to get this message out early this year. A few current members of the executive, including myself, are likely stepping down from our positions in 2021. I personally would like to continue to support the club by being an event steward, doing course designs, and even stepping into a different steward role.

I can't speak for the others, but they can note their intentions in this thread.

We are making some changes, we are likely moving 100% to online meetings to allow those that do not live close are able to join in. We are open to other changes in how we run things to make it easier for people to volunteer their time. We have moved all of our files onto the cloud, and want to move further in that direction in the future.

All current SASC Executives (President, Director, Secretary & Treasurer) will resign their current positions effective December 31st, 2020. We ask for nominations for the new candidates on our forum (self-nominations or nominations of others). Should more than one person be interested in a particular executive position an online vote will be held in November, prior to the AGM.

Executive nomination requirements
- Nominees must be a full member in good standing for a minimum of 12 months
- Self nomination will be allowed
- People may only be nominated (self-nomination or nominations by others) for one executive position
- Nominations close 21 days prior to the AGM (TBD)
- Nominees must post on 'Members Only' forum section their experience / qualifications, along with their enthusiasm for betterment of the club, in conjunction with their nomination. No qualifying post, the nomination is void. Allows for other members to consider their votes for their preferred nominee prior to AGM.
- Current executives are also able to be nominated and re-elected for 2020

Membership voting
- Full member in good standing for a minimum of 6 months prior to AGM (as per bylaws).

Nomination pages for each position will come available closer to the end of the season. You can view last year's thread on detailed descriptions of each position.

In addition we need to find people to fill steward roles, they are:
Tech Steward
Sound/Equipment Steward
Novice Steward
Workers Steward
Registration / Waivers Steward
Sponsorship Steward
