SASC Events / Start of the year

So im taking an early start to the year but want to get at least one event in before the SoloPro school.

May 13   Saturday   YYC   SASC Novice School

Is this closed to anyone that isnt a novice? At Ft. Macloed we open up two sections but i dont think that is possible at YYC? If so then the 14th would be my only seat time before school.

Is there anyone in the club willing to take home at least one (possibly all 4)of my rims from me Saturday at YYC and then drop it off at Alberta Wheel Repair during the following week at your convenience?

I found out I have a cracked spoke that I'd rather see repaired now that I've lost use of these for a while.

Please excuse my ignorance, I've looked around and only found the proposed dates for YYC but I've come to understand that at this time we only have 3 confirmed dates (and no Saturday and sunday double header) but I don't know what they are. Could someone post them up?

Other Events / TOP GUN in Helena, MT 8-13/14-2016

I'm registered for the update coming event at Helena, MT. I know a few of our members have been to this event in the past and they all recommend it. There are fewer than 20 spots remaining in this last week of registration so if anyone is on the fence now is the time to decide and get locked in.

Looks like the event will hit the cap of 125 for this 30th year annual event.

I will probably be camping on site for free, hot showers and toilets on site, food vendor ect.

Can I convince anyone else to come? Looked like I was the only SASC member so far cruising the list.

Signed up for Aug 7th, which is Sunday but Motorsports seems to think it is a Saturday event despite the date?

General Discussion / Solo Pro Schools

I just want to again point out how valuable attending the past solo pro school weekend was and once again thank Reijo and Jeff for their input into my driving techniques.

Our past event was the first time back to fort MacLeod since the schools and I think the best confirmation to the benefits (the school was followed by two red deer events which was a little hard to gauge any improvements and then Packwood which was too much of a foreign event to use as a benchmark) but after our latest I'm seeing results not only in how I feel about my driving but even by time on the clock!

My abilities and car have let me put down fast times in the past which is all well and good but I have never been able to approach the pax adjuster favourably and I was a little shocked to see myself 3rd pax, a new feat!

Looks like blaming my car as not yet pax competitive in ASP was a little off, thanks Reijo! Now I need a new excuse Unless we are talking Packwood level of car preparedness, wow!

Anyway, my main point for this post is to try and encourage more to take the school and see their hidden talents!

General Discussion / Timing/registration errors

For anyone that thinks they know the solution for the mjtiming. We have cars registered as a certain class, example car 192 is cam set as class AS 2004 Corvette. Confirmed as this in the _driver data.SASC.CSV file set as the driver data file in the configuration. During timing these values hold true but when clicking on scoring and choosing pax he is set as SSP 2010 Corvette.

This effects Jess W., Matt k. and Sean D is set correct in registration and yet pax calcuations/readout is wrong and somehow old data.

My guess is for Sunday tournament challenge we will have to clear registeration (unregister all drivers) and add everyone to an empty list?

Other Events / June 25th/26th - who's coming?

We've got the CSCC event on Sat. And the rdscc event (first wcma event fpr the year) on sun. At westerner this weekend. Anyone else coming? I have yet to do the rdscc club events yet and I'm staying in red deer over night.

General Discussion / Bridgestone RE71R wear

I was looking over my tires for wear and was a little alarmed. I knew to expect tread rub from seeing what Murray's 71r's were doing last year and indeed mine are doing it but what I wasn't expecting is the center rib between the rain slots is crowning on the wear side.

We are so little into the season that I'm worried I'm going to wreck the construction of the tire even before I wear them down to bald.

Looking for a used set, of A7's, even some with hardly any life left. Anyone have a line on sizes from 285/30-18 to 335/30-18 I'll make them fit! Or a different size of 245/40(45)-17 would work.

SASC Events / SoloPro school

I really highly recommend everyone give the solopro schools a go. Definitely worth the money for seat time and the 1 on 1 instruction and no other situation aims you to work on your skills instead of just trying to put a good time down like practice days.

I saw lots of people improving throughout the weekend!
