The alignment question is one I can't answer.  You need to research more to see what can be done (within the rules of course).  Our Mazda 3 has no alignment adjustments whatsoever on the front, so toe-in is the only thing that can be done.

My Miata has 17x7 wheels, and 225 fits fine.  However, I dropped down to 215 width and have seen no change in performance.

I agree with the others -- stay in HS.  ST* classes require a huge investment to be competitive, and a partial prep for the class will never work.

I *think* the team scoring bug has been squashed.  Take a look at your team and let me know if you find an error:  https://drive.google.com/open?id=0ByeFbiNdvLbGY1BWdmJzU0pSOVU

My apologies about this screw up :(

SASC Events / Two day (3 set) Fat Kat scores for August 13, 2017

I had to add a .001 run to everyone for the 4th set to make this work.

Scores for Saturday and Sunday combined, with your challenge runs shown as fun runs:

You are right -- looks like a coding error.  Haven't tested the team scoring in years, so I guess that's what happens :(

I will only bring a single timing system today -- Jo is coming, so there is no room for a second system.

National level with no ride-alongs?  Wow, sounds serious for the Corvette club.

You certainly haven;t over-stepped any boundaries -- this is how we all got started.

I may be cynical here, but it seems that autox isn't a sport for everyone.  So many people believe that they are better drivers than they really are, and that drives them away from the sport.  Try to be honest with them; I describe this sport much like golf or tennis, with a seeming simplicity that hides deep complexity.  It's not easy.

SASC Events / Re: Test & Tune Day???
« on: August 01, 2017, 08:49:29 PM »
We do have test and tune events every year, with more of them in the beginning of the season.

I think that the only way to get a "perfect" test and tune event is to spend much more money, and arrange events with very limited attendance (10 people?).  Even more money would get you paid marshals :)

Point of interest about the Farmtek system -- it was at the absolute limit of its range that evening.  I have Yagi antennae on order, but they won't be here in time for the next event.  So, the course designer needs to keep in mind how far the start and finish are from the control unit in order to make it work.  Also, please add "timing" to the worker list; I had to work for 2 out of the 3 heats because nobody signed up to replace me.

I could live without the long course entirely and just stick with the short courses for the evening.
