General Discussion / Re: Autocross Use – Vehicle Insurance

interesting discussion here. so with the points Wayne highlighted, will your coverage be considered void or just open you to a termination once found out?

IE: With spec twin, I'll have 2 ore more of those modifications (ground clearance and tires used for speed). If I am in a collision on the streets, will my coverage be voided?

All those who voted 0.814 are winners. I was 0.002 high.

New PAX = 0.806 + (0.008 Adj) = 0.814

That's assuming that using the entire group average pax change makes sense. But you could probably make an argument to measure a subset (ie: street class dropped by 0.006 on average and street touring by 0.007 on average).

Anyone guessing 0.812 to 0.814 was basically in the wheel house.

Welcome, James.

We spoke earlier on Facebook (I had the White RS). Glad you were able to make it out, the RS is a pretty fun car to push around.

I am assuming it will be higher than CS (0.810), and lower than STX (0.822).  Given the allowances for wheels and suspension, I think your range estimate is a bit low.  Should we start a betting pool? :)  My bet is on 0.815

I like the pool idea. Your guess off 0.815 is more punitive than BS (0.813)... do you think these mods allow the fr-s to outrun the Cayman? How much better is the suspension kit over the TRD upgrades that bump the twins into CS? I'd hope these mods allow the twins to outrun the ND Miata, so I'll give it something stiffer than CS.  I'll cast my optimistic guess of 0.812.

I have ordered the parts and looking forward to running the class next year. I'm even going to try and cord my tires... ON THE INSIDE EDGE!  ;D

This just in... SSC pax of 0.900 ;)

No test pilots.

Thanks for the answers guys, that clarifies things. The Spec FRS is tempting, anyone local considering running one?

I'm very likely picking up a twin in the next little bit. Leaning towards SSC, but waiting on some more information.

While we obviously had many more events in YYC this year, I think Stephen is hinting at running at levels beyond that. Is there anything preventing us from renting the YYC lot every other weekend during next season? While everyone's situation is different, I know that the out of town event's become a much larger effort with family requirements to balance. Personally, I plan on running every YYC event available next year, but will have to be much more choosy with which out of town events I attend.

In regards to your idea of putting money aside for the club to purchase property for autox... wouldn't hosting more YYC events play better into that idea? They seem to be a lot more profitable given attendance, and would potentially allow the club to put more money aside if we squeeze all of the events possible out of the YYC lot in the next year or two.

Automotive Marketplace / FS: ADVAN RSII Wheels (18x8)
« on: September 22, 2017, 07:07:18 PM »
ADVAN RSII (Semigloss Black, 18x8, 50mm offset with a 5x108 bolt pattern) wheels wrapped in Bridgestone RE71R tires (255/35/18) which have about 1/3 life left.

The wheel weighs (without tires) 17.2 lbs and has only been in use since April 2017. The wheels have the odd small rock chip from daily use but are in fantastic shape with no curbing/bends/etc. The wheels come with aluminum center caps as shown in the pictures attached.

Price for wheels, center caps & tires is $2950. Reply here or PM me if interested.
