they must be trying to push SSC(0.798) with a better pax time over DS (0.806), is this because of the tire restriction? or proof mods don't make your car that much faster?

Street Touring 14.10.F.2.b Electronic components may be installed in-line between the engine and sensor in order to affect the PCM/ECU...

so dose this mean i can put in a flex fuel sensor and run e85? can you run e85 in ST? i can't seem to find fuel regulations.

trying to build my STS miata to the letter of the law and ECU and control things are in the line up for next year.

Other Events / More seat time!
« on: August 21, 2019, 01:29:06 PM »
hey guys,

just wanted to extend a invite to some RDSCC events, there are still 3 more non conflicting dates with SASC. one of these dates is this Saturday before the Airdrie event. So if you are looking at getting in some more seat time in for cheep, i would love to see some more SASC folk come out!

and just for some more info, entry fee is only 20 bucks (for any FIA/WCMA member) and last event we were running 60 second courses and had 12 runs each and still finished by 3:15 pm. (lost of seat time and burnt rubber) no pre-registration. Just show up pay and play.  8) 8)

i miss racing with the SASC peeps. i hope some of you can make it!

i had so much fun racing on the week end. i miss racing with this club so much. it is like getting together with long lost family.

i run is STS as well. (just started this year)

i have a full KW coil over set up 450lb springs and tuned for the NA body style.

Solid Racing beat front sway bar and removed the rear sway bar.

No name 4-2-1 racing headers, and high flow cat

Full tune up with advanced timing running petro 94 fuel

Sparco racing seat with 5LB of ballast to make weight restrictions.

After market steering wheel

15x7.5 momo racing wheels at 13.2lb with 205 Re71r's

custom alignment

and some other little bits... i have sifted through the rule book for some time now and still figure that i am still only 50-75% prepared for the class and i do ok in local events.

Miatas are probably about the easiest on tires of all cars ... and especially in STS trim because you can run more camber ...  The camber will be good for autox wear (most of your wear) and not so good for long distance highway trips.

agreed, but i'm thinking for the next year or two a tiny cheep utility trailer will be my best bet... i don't need many tools and i don't own a air tank... I don't even have a electric ugga dugga i'm just going to be doing the swaps by hand... so a bigger trailer is not really a necessity as of right now... but maybe a goal for the future when i can actually start taking more serious trips to the usa.

now for question#2 do you need to have a utility trailer with a vin and registration or is a small trailer like that above the law?

How aggressive of an alignment are you planning on running?

When I had my Miata, the RE71Rs heat cycled them selves into hockey pucks before they physically wore out. Unless you plan on driving this car to Packwood or Lincoln I wouldn't bother with a trailer. If you plan to attend the majority of events held in 2019 you will be going through at least one set of tires, some additional mileage on weekends and to and from events will not be a big deal.

i'm planing on running 3.5 front and 2.5 rear ish... and adjust from there. i live in innisfail and attend almost every RDSCC event and i make it to some SASC events and i would like to hit FM a few times next year. but previously i do about 10-18 events a year. and have never had a set of RE71's last me a full season. weather daily driving or not. but i have been driving FWD and AWD ... so i'm not sure how much a RWD will change my tire shredding.

wow lots of good input here..

i was totally leaning towards the tire tale... and because each tire would be close to 25lb each i didn't think that 100lb ish would make that big of a difference with a stiff (spec miata style) suspension.

i like the garage start idea but am kida weary on how it would mount into the vehicle how easy it would be to take in and out. i could not find any install instructions on that site..

so i think either way i'm going to get a hitch

Reijo i love your trailer... but maybe for my first outing i can find a cheaper less pro kinda utility to tow behind the car. y'all know me i'm cheep as hell...

still open to all options at this time thank you everyone!!!

hey so i'm building me a STS miata and i don't really want to be putting any extra KM On the race tires (re71r's0 when driving to and from events. and i can't really fit the 4 extra tires in the trunk... would you recommend buying a trunk rack? install a hitch and PULL a trailer or even a trailer mount cargo thing?... i think i know where i can get a hitch for the car, so i was leaning to the hitch cargo carrier with a 500lb max...

i don't know... other than getting a friend to haul my tires for me or swap them on before i leave for the event. but even then i don't want to put 100+k worth of highway on the tires and kill them before the season is over.

what do the wizards of the sport have to say?

thanks  for any help

Must have missed them somehow in my first 2 times going thru all of the pictures, or they just hadn't been added yet.

i have been going through them for the past few hours my self...

and might i add the white ford thing gave me a run for my money but i still think that I (civic car 63) win for highest rear tire lift lol there was like 10 picks of my car and only 2 had all 4 tires on the ground... i think its a good thing? either way i'm going to be buying some of the pics one of these days!!
