I'd like to contact our race director privately. Anyone know Bob's user name? Thanks.

Not sure if he's on the forum, you may want to email him: Solo.SASC@gmail.com

When arriving at the Grey Eagle Resort for the AGM: Please go directly to the hotel, the Casino is a bit of a trek to the hotel ballroom/meeting space. Our meeting space is just off the Hotel Ballroom and our meeting room will be clearly listed on the door and reader board.

Didn't like this course nearly as much as Adam's on the previous day, some of my thoughts:

- The Chicago box was a bit too open in the morning and a bit too tight in the afternoon, need to find a happy middle there
- I did enjoy the apron/pad turnaround, it was a good way to utilize as much space as we safely can and led to a fast sweeper/turnaround with plenty of white space for line choice
- The angle of the stop box in the morning had a slight kink to it which wasn't ideal, this was softened for the afternoon and made for a smoother entrance into the stop box
- There was perhaps a bit of a gap in communicating the course changes made between AM & PM to drivers and course workers, this led to some confusion and a lot of cone carnage especially on first runs for people. I understand that had we allowed course walks it would have been very time consuming so this is just an observation

I really enjoyed Adam's course, some of my thoughts:

- When I first walked it I thought it might be a bit too fast overall, upon driving it I thought the speed was very reasonable
- Start box design was pretty much perfect, long enough chute before the lights to allow people to shift to second, the dog leg right was wide enough to allow those of us driving a pill box to still navigate it whilst not really providing any benefit to a hard launch as you had to lift before navigating the bend. I liked the start so much I copied it exactly for Sunday  :)
- Stop box was more than long enough to safely slow down the car before getting back to grid. Entrance into the stop box was fast but critically it was also safe (no high speed lane change immediately preceding the stop box)
- Average time in the mid 50's was great as it allowed us to comfortably get 7 runs in

SASC Events / Re: 2021 Draft SASC Schedule
« on: March 24, 2021, 01:56:17 PM »
Thanks for all the hard work by the exec's in getting this schedule put together and everything in place with the venue owners!

Quick question regarding the AB Covid Health Measures. Do you guys know if we need to be in Phase 3 or 4 in order for us to be allowed to run events? The website (https://www.alberta.ca/enhanced-public-health-measures.aspx#PathForward) seems a bit ambiguous. Phase 3 allows for adult team sports and racing centers but it's not until Phase 4 that outdoor sporting events are expressly listed.

General Discussion / Any SASC Folks Using iRacing
« on: January 19, 2021, 09:55:41 AM »
A few of us (Jared C, Chris S and myself) have built a gaming rig dedicated to iRacing and are getting started. We join Adam S, already on iRacing. Is there anyone else? If we could get a couple more people it could be fun to setup a little SASC iRacing Series.

For those of you that weren't at the AGM but are a trophy winner I have your trophy and/or jacket at my house, you're welcome to come and pick it up. Shoot me a PM and we can sort out a time.

I won't be shipping them and if they're not picked up in the next couple months they will be going into the clubs storage locker.
