All current SASC Executives (President, Director, Secretary & Treasurer) will resign their current positions effective December 31st, 2020. We ask for nominations for the new candidates on our forum (self-nominations or nominations of others). Should more than one person be interested in a particular executive position an online vote will be held in November, prior to the AGM.

- Nominees must be a full member in good standing for a minimum of 12 months
- Self nomination will be allowed
- People may only be nominated (self-nomination or nominations by others) for one executive position
- Nominations close 21 days prior to the AGM (November 1, 2020)

I know that the majority of the current executive, including myself, do no intend to nominate again for our current positions. While we all will stay involved in the club and help where we can.

Member Discussion (Private) / 2020 AGM Date
« on: September 09, 2020, 03:17:29 PM »
Due to current Covid-19 Restrictions we will be holding our 2020 AGM electronically over Microsoft Teams. Details are being sorted on this and will be released in October.

Since we are choosing to hold it electronically this year it gives us nearly limitless flexibility on when to hold this. The two dates we are considering are Saturday, November 21 and Saturday, November 28. We expect to hold it early afternoon and it would last for a few hours.

If you have a preference on which date you would want to see please vote, if not, then there is no need. This poll will be open till the end of September.

Thanks!

SASC Events / Re: Second driver
« on: September 08, 2020, 08:52:30 AM »
If they are someone you will always be registering (i.e. spouse, kid, etc.), you can add a profile under My Account on the MSReg website, then go through the registration process again.  You do need a bit of personal information to do this step though and when I asked about picking someone else's already populated profile (i.e. the other person already had an account with their info entered) MSReg didn't have a way for me to do it.

John

While that's completely possible we have found several bugs associated with this on the back end. If they are a spouse or immediate family member this is fine as you are ok with sharing that personal information.

Otherwise best approach is for your second driver to setup their own account, then they create a car with your identical information, if you both add the same photo for the vehicle it makes it quite clear you are a two driver car. Just make sure the information is the same and it should be fine.

General Discussion / Re: Removing Cone Marks
« on: August 07, 2020, 10:02:12 AM »
Just thought I'd share my recent discovery. I've typically used Mothers R3 Racing Rubber Remover to remove cone scuffs and it works very well but it is aggressive, it definitely takes off any paint sealant or wax you may have had on the car in that area. Recently I was removing bug guts from the front with Turtle Wax Bug & Tar Remover and noticed it took cone marks out like butter and it doesn't seem to be nearly as harsh.

What do you know about hitting cones? :)

It was me.

Member Discussion (Private) / Re: 2021 Executive Positions and Beyond
« on: July 15, 2020, 09:50:51 PM »
We can have a general discussion in this thread about these positions or anything else relating to club organization.

My hope is that we get to a point where the executive can focus on the future of the club. It feels as though we have been treading water these past few years, keeping things going and the executive. The capability exists within our membership to have a different person(s) run each of our current events without a lot of involvement from Executive. It would be good for the future executive to spend more time lobbying some Municipalities for either existing or future venues, having more time to chase down new ideas for sponsorships, or even executing new event ideas, and the big goal of continuing to attract new people to our club.

There are some jobs, such as acting as the registrar for MSREG that can only fall to one person, as it is difficult to manage many people on there. Aside from those types of roles there is a lot of flexibility in our event roles.

I said it above, I plan to steward a few events next year and step into another role to continue to help.
