Member Discussion (Private) / 2021 Executive Positions and Beyond
« on: July 15, 2020, 09:48:29 PM »
The club wanted to get this message out early this year. A few current members of the executive, including myself, are likely stepping down from our positions in 2021. I personally would like to continue to support the club by being an event steward, doing course designs, and even stepping into a different steward role.

I can't speak for the others, but they can note their intentions in this thread.

We are making some changes, we are likely moving 100% to online meetings to allow those that do not live close are able to join in. We are open to other changes in how we run things to make it easier for people to volunteer their time. We have moved all of our files onto the cloud, and want to move further in that direction in the future.

All current SASC Executives (President, Director, Secretary & Treasurer) will resign their current positions effective December 31st, 2020. We ask for nominations for the new candidates on our forum (self-nominations or nominations of others). Should more than one person be interested in a particular executive position an online vote will be held in November, prior to the AGM.

Executive nomination requirements
- Nominees must be a full member in good standing for a minimum of 12 months
- Self nomination will be allowed
- People may only be nominated (self-nomination or nominations by others) for one executive position
- Nominations close 21 days prior to the AGM (TBD)
- Nominees must post on 'Members Only' forum section their experience / qualifications, along with their enthusiasm for betterment of the club, in conjunction with their nomination. No qualifying post, the nomination is void. Allows for other members to consider their votes for their preferred nominee prior to AGM.
- Current executives are also able to be nominated and re-elected for 2020

Membership voting
- Full member in good standing for a minimum of 6 months prior to AGM (as per bylaws).

Nomination pages for each position will come available closer to the end of the season. You can view last year's thread on detailed descriptions of each position.

In addition we need to find people to fill steward roles, they are:
Tech Steward
Sound/Equipment Steward
Novice Steward
Workers Steward
Registration / Waivers Steward
Sponsorship Steward

SASC Events / Re: 2020 Season Event Stewards NEEDED
« on: July 15, 2020, 09:19:16 PM »
Please put me down for July 18/26

We will be bringing this up again at the drivers meeting on Saturday.

We need some additional volunteers to be event Stewards into August/September/October. Both myself and Type_Yarr experienced a burn out at the end of last season and really need some help this year to pull off all of these events.

We wanted to put on as many events as we could because we had a lot of demand within the surveys we put out before the season. We really need some additional volunteers to step into these roles to help us deliver the remainder of this season.

We've launched a fairly basic website for the club. We realized we did not really have a web presence outside of this forum.

These tires came off my S2000, there is approximately 6/32" of tread remaining. Purchased  April 2019 originally. Lots of life. Stored in a heat garage.

Will sell as a set for $300, or $175 per pair if you cannot use a staggered set.

Member Introductions / Re: New Member, Long Time Lurker

Hey, welcome to you first event!

You will need numbers on both sides of the vehicle. The rear window is not visible as you drive by. Numbers should be at least 8" tall and are best on the door panel with a contrast colour to your car.

Show up right when the gates open is the idea. Airdrie is a bit unique that way but we simply encourage getting there early to make sure you have time to register, get settled and walk the course a few times. It can seem like a lot your first time so best to give yourself as much time as you can.

We currently have 44 people registered for Sunday. We need 50 to go ahead with the event.

Early registration has been extended to Friday morning to see if we can reach this number.

We are currently at 35 people registered for Event #3 in Airdrie. If we are not able to reach at least 50 registrants by Friday morning we will have to cancel this event. This is mainly due to the loss that would be experienced by the club.

Any implications of this on the 2020 Championship will be discussed at the July meeting. This will be particularly true if we do not obtain any event stewards for later in the season, as well as not having enough interest in Airdrie events.

Registration is open for Event #1

There is an entry cap of 50 people, although we have not typically reached that level for Fort Macleod, I just wanted to keep everyone informed of that.
