Automotive Marketplace / FS: 2016 Focus RS
« on: September 11, 2017, 11:58:05 AM »
Debating getting into a different vehicle for next year, so seeing if anyone is interested in jumping in the RS. It's a great car (wonderful to daily drive), and I definitely won't be heartbroken if I end up hanging on to it. That said, here are the details.

Price: $45,000
Mileage: 12,000km

Original owner selling my 2016 Ford Focus RS in Frozen White. The car is low mileage, and has been meticulously cared for over the year it has been owned. Since taking delivery in July, the car has had four routine maintenance appointments (mainly oil changes, with all paper work available) and two full professional decontamination details.

The sale includes a full winter set of aluminum 'RS' wheels and tires (an option no longer offered with newly sold units), the window sticker, the owner's collectors box and the 'RS' car cover (unopened). The car's hood, fenders, bumper, side skirts and rear bumper areas have been wrapped in XPEL film. The entire car (paint and trim) is coated in Opti-Coat Pro+. A Whiteline adjustable front sway bar is installed on the vehicle, with all original parts kept stored on the side.

The car comes with an extended 'PremiumCare' warranty matched with the Ford Prepaid Maintenance Plan - both for 6 years or 100,000 km.

Compared to buying brand new, you would stand to save a substantial amount of money on GST, extended warranties and paint protection - if these are items you would look to include to protect your new RS.

Out the door price for the car was $52,599 after fees and taxes (at MSRP with no mark up). Warranty and prepaid maintenance bump to $56,913, while the film and ceramic coating bring the total to just over $60,000.

Please email if you have any questions.

General Discussion / Tent/Canopy?
« on: July 05, 2017, 10:21:41 PM »
So, with another hot weekend in the forecast, I'm debating purchasing a canopy for racing. Figured it would be a way to keep the car cool during marshaling, and me cool during lunch/prep. I'm pretty sure I'm not the first to have thought this... so, any suggestions/learnings from those that went this route?

SASC Events / How does SASC define novice eligibility?
« on: May 16, 2017, 12:49:04 PM »
The msreg novice checkbox is fairly vague, referring to 'two years'. I am wondering if it is meant to cover 'seasons' or if is specific to when you started within a season.

So, using myself as an example...my first event was August 2016. For 2017, I get labelled as a novice. What about 2018? Do I continue to label myself a novice despite having events completed in 2016? Do I label myself novice only until August 2018? If so, am I eligible for any novice awards in 2018? Or, does the novice label refer to 'two seasons' which would only grant me eligibility for 2016 and 2017?

Thanks,
Jared

SASC Events / Consistent Scoring Method for Championship Events?
« on: May 03, 2017, 02:33:13 PM »
When I asked around during the morning of the first event, it seemed like it was undecided at that point if the best morning and best afternoon run would be used to create the scores, or if the best two scores of the entire day would be used.

Will the best morning & best afternoon time format be used for all championship events going forward?

Does anyone have a recommendation between the two of these for data logging? Anyone currently using one or the other?

Technical Talk / Restrictions on changing intakes for street class?
« on: March 28, 2017, 09:16:32 AM »
I was looking at https://www.mountuneusa.com/mountune-high-flow-induction-kit-Focus-RS-p/2536-cais-blk.htm
which replaces a similar piece of plastic for the intake tubing, but keeps the original pathing of the OEM intake. Would this violate the rules for street class?

Technical Talk / Car Numbering
« on: November 13, 2016, 09:24:37 PM »
I was looking at getting some magnetic numbers for next year, unfortunately retiring my painters tape handy work. However, while I was usually given #438 for most of the events I attended in 2016, the last event I was given #43 (which is my desired number). I'm not sure if that's because someone didn't show at that event or if that number opened up. Am I able to get confirmation on if I will be #43 throughout 2017?

Sorry if this is in the wrong area to discuss.

Thanks,
Jared

SASC Events / Public Registration for YYC3?
« on: September 20, 2016, 07:53:31 AM »
Haven't seen an notification for non-member registration for YYC3 and a friend of mine expressed interest in coming. Are there still some open spots for non-members at this event?
