General Discussion / 2019 SCCA - California Tours, Match, and Pros

I was just looking at the SoCal forums schedule and noticed that between March 29 and April 28 (over a period of 4 weeks), you could take in 3 major/National SCCA level events!   Hmmm.....haul your car down and leave it there! There are options for places to leave it there through the clubs just like Packwood. 

Anyone going?

Includes the following (dates are corrected to scca.com site info):

1. Crow's Landing Pro (March 29-31)
2. Fontana Pro (April 5-7) (NE LA at AAA Speedway)
3.  Crow's Landing Tour (April 26-28) (SE of San Francisco)

4.  And later on in June: San Diego Match Tour (June 14-16)

Want to get an early start on the season, get a break from winter, get the rust out early?  Any of these events would be a good choice.   I have been to San Diego I think at least 2x in my time in Calgary ... maybe it was 3x ... and, of course, when I lived down there.

SASC Schools / Instructors for winter schools - 2018-2019 winter

I need to know how many instructors we have this winter.

We will have 3 groups of students tomorrow (Dec. 30/18), so if you are planning to come out tomorrow, please PM or email me so I can start a list.

In fact, if you plan on teaching this year, please send me an email so I can include you on information and whatnot.

We meet at the Wynham Gardens Inn in the morning (see attached map). Please come early (7:30 am) to sign waivers, tech form and meet everyone.

There will be coffee and muffins/cookies there tomorrow. The presentation will begin at 8:00 am sharp so all the paperwork has to be done before that!

SASC Schools / 2019 Winter Driver Training (incl. Dec. 30)

Schedule for the Winter Driver Training for the 2019 winter is as follows (this list will be updated as it is set up):

Dec. 30/18 – Winter Driver Training 1
Jan. 6/19 – Sunday – Winter Driver Training 2 (tentative only - reschedule to Jan. 20?)
Feb. 02/19– Saturday – BMW Club Winter Driver Training
Jan. 27/19 – Sunday – Winter Driver Training 3 (confirmed)
Feb. 10/18 – Sunday – Winter Driver Training 4 (confirmed)
Feb. 17/18 – Sunday – Winter Driver Training 5 (tentative only - this one will depend on demand.  Interest seems to wane by this late in the winter)

All events are at the Budget/YYC lot - 2202 Airport Trail NE - access via 100th Ave NE, then south on 22nd St. NE

As of today, we are good to book events at YYC until the end of February!   The winter schools will be held there like normal in this case.     Let it snow!

SASC Events / Sunday Oct. 28 photos

While I was running I had hardly any time so most of the photos are general in nature or from the 1st run group (think I caught everyone in the group).

There are also some site shots from the hill in the west ... kind of a last hurrah I suppose so I wanted to preserve some good memories of the site with some photos.

It was a good day for me - great fun!  Hope you all had a good time too!

SASC Events / Course setup for today and tomorrow!

A couple of other people have mentioned they will be there but if a few more are available that would be great!

SASC Events / Oct. 20/21/28 dates ...

I posted Sat/Sun Oct. 20/21 and Oct. 28 on MSReg.

The only questionable one right now for me is Saturday, October 20. If we do not have enough people, would the entrants be willing to kick in extra bucks so we do not lose money and that we can have the event (if there are not too many people, the pay-off is getting more runs than normal obviously! )? ...
