Announcements / Ft. MacLeod July 10th Practice & August 1 Championship #3 Events« on: June 29, 2021, 07:30:00 AM »
Thanks to everyone who showed up for Saturday or Sunday (or both) in Airdrie, the event went off with out a hitch and we were into cleanup both days at 5pm, right on schedule. A big thanks to Adam for keeping us on track as the new exec figures out how these events happen.
I have the next two events ready in MSReg: 1) July 10, 2021 - Practice event #1 at Ft. MacLeod. Registration is now open, hope to see you there. Registration can be found at the following link: http://msreg.com/sasc2021fmP1 2) August 1, 2021 - Ft. MacLeod Championship #3. Registration will open at 6pm on July 1st so I have time to update the reserved numbers list - we had a flurry of new memberships come in during registration for Airdrie last weekend and I'm still behind on numbers. Registration can be found at the following link: http://msreg.com/sasc2021fm3 Hope folks can make it out. 18

Announcements / 2021 Reserved Numbers« on: June 03, 2021, 09:37:56 PM »
As in previous seasons, SASC will allow members to reserve racing numbers for the duration of the 2021 season, these will be preassigned in Motorsport Reg. So if you’ve ever wanted to purchase a set of magnetic or static cling numbers now you can.
In order to reserve a particular racing number you must: 1. Have a valid 2021 SASC Membership (https://www.motorsportreg.com/events/southern-alberta-solosport-club-sasc-membership-973862) 2. Reserve one of the following numbers: 1-199: Reserved Numbers Only (non-members cannot use these numbers) 200-699: Open Numbers (members can also reserve) 700-999: NEW DRIVERS ONLY (have done less than 3 autocross events) (this is so we can easily identify first time, new drivers) Other numbers (i.e. 1000+ are not permitted) 3. Numbers will be on a first come, first served basis. If you included your number preference in your MSReg membership registration form, I have assigned these numbers in the order that the members were registered. If you need to change your number listed below prior to the first event, please send me an email at secretary.sasc@gmail.com and I will update your number. 5. You can only reserve one number unless you have registered for a family membership and you have included those numbers in your registration. If you have a co-driver, he or she must also be a member and request that number him/herself The current list of reserved numbers is as follows, please let me know by email if you see any errors in your assigned number: 1 Miles W 2 Clara L 3 Matt R 4 Duane J 5 Murray P 7 Peter M 8 Patrick S 9 Tammy L 11 Mikael S 12 Tom G 18 Dallin B 21 Gary S 22 Ryan S 26 Mark T 28 David S 30 Josua D 34 James W 36 Brian A 39 Warren K 41 Scott F 43 Jared C 44 Kirsten M 46 Jason H 47 Dave C 48 Ian G 51 Richard B 55 Perry L 57 Zan G 58 Barry B 61 Don M 64 Claire H 65 Derrick K 66 Paul M 67 Alex L 68 Steve M 69 Bill R 76 John H 77 Alex F 78 Gord W 79 Patrick C 82 Shannon W 86 Chris S 87 Ambrose F 88 Stephen H 89 Greg J 91 Doug C 92 Jess W 93 Shane L 99 Aidan M 102 Greg P 105 Jo P 107 Rick B 111 M C 112 Adam S 116 Greg M 117 Carolyn B 125 Danny K 126 Danielle L 128 Mary F 134 Nathan H 136 Yvonne A 147 D. Automotive Marketplace / 5x112 20mm spacers« on: February 09, 2020, 06:17:44 PM »
I have a pair of 5x112 20mm spacers, 57.1mm hub centric and wheel centric (i.e. VW and Audi spec). I used these on my B5 Passat, then my C5 Allroad before trying to use them on my 2011 TDI. They worked fine for the first two cars but the taper on the bore of my factory wheels on the TDI meant that the wheel centric lip was too short.
$50 OBO, I'll probably put these on Kijiji eventually but thought I'd offer them up here first. Photos available on request (basically, they are a solid design with no relief machining). John 23
Automotive Marketplace / FS: Audi 5x112 7"x16 Speedline Wheels« on: October 23, 2019, 06:14:41 PM »
ad on kijiji is here:
https://www.kijiji.ca/v-tires-rims/calgary/audi-5x112-7-x16-wheels-for-sale/1467721328 Make me a reasonable offer so I can get rid of them - I bought these a few years ago to put studded tires on for my wagon at ice dice but never got around to it. Will also trade these for an ice-dice co-drive this winter if that works. John 24
Automotive Marketplace / WTB: Cool automotive seat to make into an office chair« on: August 26, 2019, 07:30:22 PM »
Anyone have a cool front bucket seat that would be suitable for me to attach to a rolling base to make into an office chair? I'm kind of partial to GTI/VW plaids but open to other ideas too. Must be inexpensive and I'd prefer something that wasn't too ratty looking.
Thanks, John 25
Driving Discussion / Ice Dice co-drive?« on: December 23, 2018, 09:36:03 AM »
I'm looking for someone to co-drive with for ice dice (and winter autox if they go ahead for SASC), not able to bring the VW wagon out this year. For those who were at ice dice last year, I was the guy doing check in with the grey wagon and I drive the yellow miata at autox in the summer.
Thanks, John 26
General Discussion / Co-drive for Sunday?« on: April 20, 2018, 08:34:47 PM »
Looks like I won't be able to bring out our Miata on Sunday, any chance someone would be willing to put up with me as a co-driver? PM me or catch me tomorrow at the work session at the lot.
Thanks, John 27

Member Introductions / New member and my first autocross this weekend« on: April 12, 2017, 10:15:16 AM »
After many years of raising kids I'm finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel and its time to pick up a new hobby so I decided to try out autocross. Bought a helmet yesterday from Shawn, picked up a club membership and signed up for Sunday's event.
I have a '92 Miata (bright yellow, it'll be hard to miss) and my goal for this year is to get as much seat time as I can fit in right now, as Sunday will be my first event. I also plan to get my wife out as often as I can. I'm also looking to try out rallycross (I took a 3 day dirt fish school last year and am smitten by the feel of getting a car to rotate), so if anyone can point me at the right people to talk to that would be great. John
