Member Discussion (Private) / 2022 SASC Secretary Position
« on: October 15, 2021, 08:11:39 PM »
As you've probably seen from Dallin's post, we are getting ready to run through the elections process at our AGM (tentatively late November, look for Jared's post for details shortly) and discussed at our Monthly meeting on Tuesday whether each of us is willing to stand for re-election.  I too am willing to run the club's secretary position for a second year and would like to put forward my name for re-election for the position for the 2022 season.  For those of you who I don't know me very well, I've been auto crossing since the 2017 season at YYC and run in the yellow 1992 Mazda Miata.  I'm also the guy that has responded to any issues you've had with registering (especially making sure your annual membership discount works), processes refunds when you can't make the event and answers general questions to the newcomers that are looking to come out.

If you are interested in putting your name forward as a nominee for the position of secretary, please get in touch with Jared to discuss the details and so we can put in place a voting process for the AGM (instead of the standard acclamation that usually happens).  The secretary's current role is to manage the meeting minutes for the monthly and annual meetings, manage the registration process in MSReg and is part of the executive body that manages day to day operations of the club and our events.

If you are curious about the role, please don't hesitate to get in touch and I'll walk you through what I know from my year on the job.

Announcements / Re: 2021 Reserved Numbers
« on: July 01, 2021, 05:45:20 PM »
I've updated the reserved numbers for SASC in MSReg, please double check that I have your number right per the list above when you register for your next event.

If your number is not listed above and you are sure you requested one, I had seven that were requested by more than one person.  You will get an email from me requesting your next choice.  Numbers were reserved in the order that I received membership payments.

SASC Events / Feedback for Airdrie 2021 Championship Event #2
« on: June 29, 2021, 08:02:22 AM »
We'd like to start getting feedback on the course designs (and feel free to throw in event feedback as well) for each event so we can make improvements to our designs for future events.  I've attached a copy of the course map so you can remind yourself of what we drove at Sunday's event.  Tom, feel free to pipe in with your design intent if you like and what you ended up changing from the map after you got out there and started walking the final set-up.

To help feed your thoughts, here are some stock questions to think about:

-  what did you like?
-  what didn't you like?
-  how were the start and finish boxes?
-  any specific elements that stand out in your mind still?
-  do you think your likes and dislikes were specific to your car or level of car prep?
-  anything about the course design that you think affected the execution aspects of the event?
-  were speeds too slow, too fast, too much full throttle, not enough full throttle?
-  from our starters, grid workers and timers, anything you noticed about keeping the event moving

Thanks to everyone who showed up for Saturday or Sunday (or both) in Airdrie, the event went off with out a hitch and we were into cleanup both days at 5pm, right on schedule. A big thanks to Adam for keeping us on track as the new exec figures out how these events happen.

I have the next two events ready in MSReg:

1)  July 10, 2021 - Practice event #1 at Ft. MacLeod.  Registration is now open, hope to see you there.  Registration can be found at the following link:  http://msreg.com/sasc2021fmP1

2)  August 1, 2021 - Ft. MacLeod Championship #3.  Registration will open at 6pm on July 1st so I have time to update the reserved numbers list - we had a flurry of new memberships come in during registration for Airdrie last weekend and I'm still behind on numbers.  Registration can be found at the following link:  http://msreg.com/sasc2021fm3

Hope folks can make it out.

I forgot to inquire about this, but I had the same issue with not being able to use the members discount code for early reg last week - I suppose the idea is to renew the membership more than 5 minutes before registering for events  ???
I'm assuming this is something that can be fixed in post-production? :)
Thx,
Greg

Hi Greg, I'll double check tonight but as people registered over the last two weeks I double checked that if they bought a membership at the same time as registering for these events I processed a refund to their account for the discount code.
