Event changes

Not sure if I have heard correctly but is the club going in the direction of having less, practice days, more championship days and running events every other week for one day only ?

I enjoy the practice day on Saturday, and then championship day on Sunday format personally

It is a long drive to be doing twice in a day, plus when we stay over night we support the local community by eating and lodging there. From what I have observed the two day events do seem to draw more attendees. Although I can understand that this doesn't work for everybody.

CSCC is using this kind of format for the summer. They have a string of single day events coming up on July 30th, Aug 14th and Aug 21st.  I am planning on combining the 30th with an RDSCC event on Sunday, and I am currently undecided on the other two.

If what I have heard is true, I would suggest that we hold back from making the changes until there has been exhaustive discussion on this forum, these changes will effect everybody as well as making more noise twice a month and as you say Nick less support for the local community.

My 2 cents worth is this is a bad idea.  :(

I'm probably out of touch on this but I thought one condition of the rental in Fort Macleod is that they were only allowed to rent the facility for a single weekend each month?

Nothing has been formalized, it was simply a discussion for future years. If the town was perhaps open to the idea of more weekends or multiple single days in a month it's something we may consider for some (not all) events.
