Super happy that we now have a site big enough for U.S. national-style courses. :)

Two requests, one specific to YYC and one not:
  • I worked at Station 4 (the one farthest from the start). We were having a lot of trouble hearing timing on our radio, and timing was having a lot of trouble hearing us. The distances involved are smaller than in Fort Macleod, but I wonder if the light poles or other stuff in the area was interfering with radio reception. If so, we might want to consider getting more powerful radios for at least timing and the farthest station on course. (Do they make larger radios that would interoperate with our current ones?)

  • It would be awesome if, at future events, we left the Wi-Fi up for ten minutes after last runs so that people could check times. :)

ASA had a similar issue with the distance and trees at Castrol. The club purchased these radios and I programmed them to operate on the same GMRS/FRS channels as the old radios. Works a treat, radio transmissions are really solid now. We also use these radios for our chumpcar team for pit/car comms.

There was a photographer wandering around on course -- at one point, he even climbed the big dirt berm at the back corner of the lot to get an interesting angle. Does anyone know who he was, and if he's posted his photos?

I saw Babe Garage's awesome album, but I'm thinking they're from someone else, both due to the lack of elevated berm shots, and also because the photographer I'm thinking of didn't look like he'd have a website called "Babe Garage". :)

Think that was Shawn Bishop ... he got a shot from on top of the berm ... He is on FB ... posted some great photos on there.
