Well, I've just bought a membership and am going to join in the fun at the Ft. this weekend so I thought I should say hello. The season sort of crept up on me and I've not had time to install a few needed parts in the car...motivation is good.
I've got two play cars. The first is a 1981 Volvo 242 GLT. I'm not sure what class I'm going to be in with this car or any of the details. I'm looking forward to learning a lot. I've built this car from the ground up (2010 - starting to rust again
). Last year I installed the power train upgrade it's always needed. It's now got a turbocharged 2.3 L engine and a Borg-Warner world class T5 getting it down the road. It's also EFI now - which is super nice. It's sporting a big brake kit (that actually has effect), sways, springs, bushings all the usual stuff that you never find in a Volvo.
The second car is much further off - it's a 1966 Volvo 122. It's my latest zany project. It's designed to go around corners with hate. When done, it'll have a 2.3 L 5 cylinder, Toyota IRS and Corvette C4 IFS. I've spent 2 years working on the engineering and some of the fabrication. It's a long way back, so I won't bore you further.
Anyway - hope to have fun and meet the crowd on Saturday.
