Usually we have used Subway and you have a choice of their sandwiches which probably can be dairy-free if I recall correctly.

We have 18 with deposits for the Intro (full, but no waitlist).

We also have 17 with deposits for the Comp (room for 1 more!).

I would not recommend the Comp for a raw beginner, of course, however if you have considerable experience and/or have taken the Intro, you might want to consider this last spot that is available!

There is a lot of seat time available at each of these schools and practicing some solid techniques now, early in the season, can give you something to work on to perfect for the summer season!

Cheers,

Reijo

There is one spot left for this coming Sunday's (May 31)  SoloPro Driving School Competition School at Fort Macleod.  All other spots are spoken and paid for!  Interested in improving your autox "game"?  This may be the answer for you!  Send me a msg or call me ... we can get you in!  Instructors are Tim Aro , Jeff Janzen and moi!

Last spot is spoken for.  However, in case there are any last minute cancellations, I will take names for a waiting list (there is no one on the waiting list at this moment).

Reijo, you may have mentioned this before, but any thoughts to how many runs we may see on the intro day?  I believe you mentioned it could be as high as half a season's worth of runs, which would equate to 30-40 runs that day?

I have a co-driver and we split costs on everything, so I am trying to understand how much tire wear I am going to do that day just in case we need new rubber before the end of the season.

Yes, you might take 25 or more runs depending on how the day runs ... However they are not really long runs .... and some of your wear will depend on your car, set_up, and how aggressively you drive.

Of course we emphasize smoothness which improves tire wear (one of the lesser advertised and known benefits of being smoother behind the wheel ... and taking the schools.  You have to be smooth to be fast!).

This is something I have noticed:  Tire wear seems to be somewhat less at the schools than during regular competitions.  Maybe people are trying harder to concentrate on technique at the schools rather than outright speed as on regular competition days (and consequently more aggression and, hence, resulting in overdriving)?

On the other hand I do recall some cars wearing front tires down (e.g. FWD/AWD with struts .. poor camber curves and little camber).  If you have one of those it would best to ensure you have enough tire pressure and drive without inducing excessive understeer.

Also if your tires are extremely worn it might be best to replace them beforehand or bring an extra set.   We do quite a few laps ... albeit short ones.

I'll be in for Saturday night if it's still available. Mid 40's and safe with small animals and children.

Sure Nick, no problem as long as the small animals and children aren't with you. :)

I'm driving #24 Cayman. We can connect on Saturday.

Thanks for putting on a great school! Wish I was there for the Sunday session as well. Next year.....

Definitely have a lot to chew on for the season. I will get that rhythm down for the slaloms!

There was a lot of confusion about run groups and work groups - we need a better way!
