Uh, so I'm reading posts, registration web pages and all that guff and not seeing anything about start times. What time should I arrive both days?

Reijo posted this in another section recently. It is about a 1:45 drive, so I will be leaving the house at about 6am or so.

One of the key questions?   When to arrive:  Come before 8 am so you have time to empty your car, walk the course (multiple times is recommended in order to memorize it!), pump up and/or change your tires, and whatever other preparation you need to do ... or just come and hang out and talk cars and racing!

Hey everyone.

I'm new to the forum and new to Autocross/Slalom and am looking for some information. I attended the ice driving school the last two years and would like to expand my skills on dry pavement.

What happens each day (Saturday and Sunday)?
Arrive at 8:00 on both days?

Any info is appreciated.

Thanks,

Adam

Registration, tech, set-up and course walks happen first thing in the morning ... It is a pretty busy time.

First runs about 10 am ... should see about starting earlier?

Lunch around noonish.

Run until about 4-5 pm depending on numbers etc.

This Saturday there will be two courses set up - east side will be practice ... west side will be the school and they are run independently.

On Sunday a single course will be run for the championship with some changes at noon so it is essentially a 2nd course for the afternoon.

Get in as many walks as possible and also consult with experienced people how to drive it as best as you can ... get some ride-alongs and take some experienced people with you to learn as much as possible.  This is much, much different than driving on the street!   :)

I live in the extreme NW corner of the city (furthest from Fort Macleod) and it is almost exactly 2 hours for me to get to Fort Macleod.

Weather for Fort Macleod ... a little cooler than the forecast earlier in the week ... but you never know in this country until the morning (and we run if it rains ... although it does not look like it for Fort Macleod this weekend):

I have a set of Hankook r-comps on AP1 wheels --anyone is welcome to burn them up if they want.  Cold weather probably makes them less than useful though...

Why not bring them along and we can have a bonfire?   :)   Actually on a practice you can run on them ... just need to get the winter rust out anyway ...   :)

Jo and I have decided that we are too lazy to change tires at events :)  But anyone is welcome to "borrow" them for a weekend.

You make me want to bring out the AP2 instead of the Mini this weekend.

Who's heading down tonight?  I'll be in front of the Red Coat putting a few more decals on my car and then heading to the usual pub after that to see if anyone is around.
