FS - 2002 Ford Focus SVT

An oldie but a goodie... car-club price, asking $1500 https://www.kijiji.ca/v-view-details.html?adId=1431634943

'02 SVT Focus - the sporty one, with the 170HP four, lower, firmer suspension, and 6 spd manual. Car is currently on 16" rims from a regular Focus with near-new winter tires, but also includes a set of the factory SVT 17, 5 spoke rims with performance summer tires (probably good for one more summer, possibly two). PS, PW, PB, sunroof, A/C, AM/FM CD with aux and USB with iPod/iPhone control. I'd love to see someone use/abuse the car for autocross or other motorsports, or just enjoy it as a still-above average fun car.

The car is in good shape for its age, but not perfect. Those of you who've seen my ancient RX7 will know I look after cars. This has mostly served as my wife's daily driver for almost exactly 7 years, and is still a fun car to drive, but it does have some clunks & rattles, and a check engine light (downstream 02 sensor heater error, and a battery/charge light stuck on because the battery-minder/charge monitor was damaged by a bad voltage regulator allowing over-volts).

The engine and gearbox are in great condition (no oil use or leaks, shifts great, and the clutch shows no signs of weakness).
Timing belt was done 2 years/40,000 km ago, along with the water pump and all tensioners. The body is straight, no accidents.
Oil changed on schedule religiously, always synthetic, with Wix filters. Gearbox oil changed 2 years ago with the recommended Ford synthetic gear oil - spendy, but it works best with this transmission.
Alternator and battery new in the last 6 months.
All receipts for the last 7 years, ~140,000km
Most of the interior is in very good shape, but the driver's side heated seat doesn't work (we have a heated cushion on it), and there is a small tear in the leather bolster. The heated mirror also doesn't heat on the driver's side.
Front wheel bearings and brakes replaced in last 2 years.
Contact info in the Kijiji ad.

I will vouch for Greg with this car ... should be a great car for a good price for someone in the club.

Hmmmm....I think I would enjoy this car ... but the timing is not right ... unfortunately.

In fact, I think it is still a competitive car in-class.

That's a crazy value. I 1000% don't need another car right now, but it's still tempting.

Marco, buy this so I don't have to think about it!  :P

Had one, it's Marco's now - shockingly good fun and THAT price is a deal......

Thank goodness I found a co drive for all but the Airdrie event or I'd be bidding on it too!

I think it is still a competitive car in-class.

A buddy of mine came in third in HS at the US Nationals in one in 2012. I don't think it's bleeding-edge competitive... but it's also $1,500. :)

Dang been thinking about one of these for a while now but it’s bad timing for me. Someone is going to get a great deal!
