Help for setup for tomorrow's Winter Driver Training
« on: February 24, 2018, 09:21:51 AM »
Setup this afternoon for the Winter Driver Training tomorrow - YYC.  How does 3 pm sound?  Would 4 pm be better?  It is light out longer so we could do it a bit later if needed.  We also will have a bit less to set up so that should save some time also.

Also, we have room for more students if you know of any!

This will likely be the last one for the season!

Notably, for instructors and helpers, this would be a good chance for you to try out the lot on snow/ice if you have not done so already (today that is).

I assure you it is pretty good.  I'm going to up the speed a tiny bit for the course, since it was no real concern the last couple of times at all.  It was noticeably safer than summer time events.  It has been almost all corners before so will add a short straight basically and that, of course, means a braking zone.

We are sort of set to go ... finished up past 10 pm ... mostly driving around (a tank) and packing down snow in places where the snow was deeper .... and particularly the entrance from the east (by the east Budget entrance off of Barlow Trail (southbound ... e.g. turn right from 100th Ave NE and go south on Barlow and there is a gate on the right with the Budget offices/gate etc.

Then proceed along the south side of the fence (last row of cars) all the way west to the lot.  That path needs a bit more packing down ...
