SASC Events / Start of the year
« on: March 22, 2017, 09:33:12 PM »
So im taking an early start to the year but want to get at least one event in before the SoloPro school.

May 13   Saturday   YYC   SASC Novice School

Is this closed to anyone that isnt a novice? At Ft. Macloed we open up two sections but i dont think that is possible at YYC? If so then the 14th would be my only seat time before school.

Thanks.

I signed up when extreme was the only option, I'm good with that or L1, L2 format, Im just showing up for the two days to be a sponge.

At first I was dissapointed with the early in the season placement of this year's school but see why as the CND nationals is awefully early in the season as well and it makes sense to have the school ahead of that.

I find driving the GD quite enjoyable :) The 265/35/18 fit better and I did notice extra grip on a 9.5" rim vs the 255. Next year bigger tires on the same rims for next year, surgery may be involved :)

I don't think we could have asked for a better last event at fort MacLeod, maybe a few more members would have been fun.

Well done on course design Reijo, course kept us all busy every second but not overwhelmed.

I can't believe I'm starting to pax well with my ASP subie, here's hoping I can continue the trend next year with some help with added grip!

As I've learned after the fact like many before me...Street prepared/Street Mod are the cut your fender for stupid wide tires class that tricks people into thinking it is the add power to my car class. It takes a very high level of car preparedness to hope to pax well in those and higher classes.

Tires first, then power unless your going to ignore pax like me and then I'd say add all the power you can and have fun!

I'd say no to exhaust modifications you're looking at. You have to run the tailpipe to one of the holes in the rear bumper after the cat anyway. Or are you thinking muffler on one side outlet and muffler-less on the other side? I think the added weight and complication wouldn't be worth it and even that might be a no no.

The rules are basically saying you can replace the "cat-back" portion of system all you want and can goto a single outlet if original was a dual outlet.

I don't think anyone would protest having the uprights left for the wing but if you trophy anything can be picked apart that isn't OEM or specific in the rules as it is allowed.

As a new and late last year arrival to the club I am encouraged to see just how well the executives and other volunteers of the club have made a considerable effort in maintaining and improving the public outlook of our little Motorsport. Throughout the world over, Motorsports in general have a hard time being tolerated to those who do not partake.

Thank you all for putting so much more extra time to make SASC successful and thank you to all participants who respect the rules and give our club the best opportunity for future success.

I made it home with no problems. Looks like my misfire check engine light problems was me sucking in oil into the intake on the hard corner into the slalom, it kinda sucked not being able to do the slalom with power but it did force me to slow down lol.

. I've got 30 on hand for Sunday event. Paul, if you could bring ten or so to cover the overages we might get that would be great.

Today went well but with the shortage if course workers available with smaller group and intense wind (every cone had to be doubled up) the course had to be built with the last half ommited and tomorrow will be the same.

I will reflect changes by hand on these maps so avoid confusion.

Hope someone can get some printed or you can access from your smart phone.

I apologize, I left it too late about having maps printed off for our weekend event. The course is not one that should find people easily lost after a course walk for those that can't have access to maps prior to Saturdays practice. If need be I can drive to Lethbridge after practice event to ensure we get maps printed for championship event

That A mod doesn't have a gas pedal anymore, now it is a fast forward pedal.
