Anyone willing to work registration on Saturday?
« on: July 26, 2018, 09:16:47 PM »
Hi all,

We didn't have a single person volunteer to work registration on Saturday. Registration's a cushy work assignment -- you just need to sit in the hut and check people in on the laptop. There are three people assigned to registration at each event, so that they can take turns working while the other two prep their cars and walk the course.

Sometimes, if we're short on workers, the people who work registration are also given a regular work assignment. When this happens, they get easy / non-running work assignments like timing, sound, or starter.

The only catch is that you have to get to the site a bit earlier. One of the registration workers needs to be on site at 7:30 when the gate opens; you can work out which one with the other registration workers.

Anyone willing to volunteer? If so, respond here, or better, email me at [my first name][my last name]@live.com, without any spaces, periods, or the square brackets, of course. (My name's at the bottom of this post.)

Thanks!
Steve

I am not sure if I will be there on Saturday -- I have a house full of guests.  If I do show, it's going to be on the late side :(

Reijo has the timing gear for tomorrow, so it will all be there for Saturday.

I'm heading down today for the day and have no trouble showing up at 7:30 tomorrow if someone can show me how to run the computer.  I did run checkin at ice dice this year but probably need someone to run me through the specifics of how it works for SASC.

Awesome -- we should have enough people, then. Thanks all!

Yep I have the timing gear and it worked today ...only used it for the 2nd half (not even) of the afternoon.  The laptop seemed to be low on power and ran it off my car and am charging it now.

Had a good day today ... lots of runs and fun for everyone!
