Miata roll bar info
« on: December 22, 2014, 07:10:34 PM »
Since there's a lot of Miata owner's, I am wondering where most people who have roll bars bought them from.

I am looking at a Hard Dogg roll bar (not a full cage), most places in the US don't seem to ship here. The best option seems to be to order it and go pick it up from Montana at one of the border storage facilities but not sure if the time/fuel cost/plus shipping cost to the storage facility is going to be much cheaper than just paying an expensive shipping fee directly here if that's possible.

I've also heard a few places in Ontario make miata roll bar's but the fitment, seat and helmet clearance do not seem to be very good from what I've read.

The Hard Dog would be a good one ... been around for a long time!

I have picked up stuff at the Coutts-Sweetgrass border before (cost was $5 USD) .... pretty good price!  :)    Of course it means driving down there .... 3  hours one way approximately.

Jay has also used these guys extensively ... give them a shout:

Any time I ship stuff that's big, heavy and/or expensive I get it shipped to one of the two shipping outlets in Montana. I figure I saved myslelf a few bucks over the years  ;). It makes the most sense if you're buying a lot of stuff and/or have some friends also doing the same thing at the same time.

You'll have to pay the warehouse fee ($2-20 depending on size & weight) plus 5% GST plus gas to get there and back.

I'll be doing another trip before spring.
